Skin by Lee Varis (2006, Package)

I am a photography student and came across this book in the school library. I noticed ALL of the great information it had, so I got online that night and bought it. It covers many different aspects of how to improve your portraits through photoshop. I was impressed by how well each step was explained with visuals of what you are doing. With this book I have learned how to make skin look flawless and make people slimmer, which many people strive to do. Also I found it very interesting and helpful that in the beginning of the book it demonstrates how numorous images were created (light set-ups and such). Overall I would suggest this book for anyone who is serious about taking images of people.

This book has made more confused than ever - but that is because I realise I still have to learn lots of things when it comes to color management, skin toning and retouching. The approach of the author is very effective and very easy to follow. But I suggest to read it over and over again and practice to learn the effects of the author's advice.

Overall, I am pleased with this book and highly recommend it.

Awesom book very well written. Comes with a DVD as well this is for anyone from the professional to the amature it is clear and smart.
