i decided to buy it because i just got a PS3 and needed some good cheap games. I like skate cause its a casual game i can play when im waiting for a friend to come over, or if im cooking. i dislike about how there are no cheats for it. i like how in tony hawk i could do a ridiculously high ollie. Also how the camera angle in this game is very annoying, i like having a high view.

It might be just me but i had to do almost every challenge like 5 times.

This game has kept my 12 year old busy longer than any other game that I ever purchased. He has explored multiple levels and connected with many other players for hours upon hours of entertainment. I would highly recommend this as it has been well worth the money.

If you like skateboard games, you will enjoy this one a lot. Excellent graphics. The music playlist is great. The gameplay can be hard at the beginning but that is part of the fun. It support 4 players offline and online. Very interactive. I recommend it.

The game play in this game is amazing. The creators of this game did a stellar job with the life-like moves. My girlfriend has never really been into video games but she picked it up and was hooked from the start. I give it two very enthusiastic thumbs up.

This game took me back 10 years to my old skating days, I used to be a big fan of the Tony Hawk series but when the tricks became too outrageous and the gameplay became too much about programming and less about feeling, this game brought all that good stuff back.

The controls take a bit to get used to but it's well worth learning as it makes you feel more like you are in control of the board.

I could go on forever about this game but my end result, buy it. It's worth the money.

The gameplay is so great, its just a little too easy though. Much better and difficult than the tony hawk games.

I enjoy this game a lot. I've been playing the Tony Hawk games since 2, and they've grown a little stale. This game takes the skateboarding genre in a new direction. It's much more realistic (there are no 1080 triple kickflips off a 2 foot ramp in this game) game for one thing. The new controls add greatly to this, as well as the experience as a whole. Also the city and the levels are great. It feels like you're cruising around an actual city, not some video game level.

The only drawbacks are the lack of some of the big names the Tony Hawk games have, though that doesn't really matter from a fun/gameplay perspective. Also this game can be a bit hard and has a learning curve to the controls, though I feel this is worth it as adds to the realism and and satisfaction you get when playing.

In closing, if skateboarding (in real life or in a game) is your thing, you should probably pick this up, you will enjoy it. To everyone else though this might not have as broad of an appeal as some of the Tony Hawk games. You should probably try one of those, and if you get into that give this a try.

i bought this for my kids since they are all into the skater's thing right now. i have bought other games at different times and they would certainly have the new look of lust and the kids would play them for a while until i bought skate for ps3... now that is really all they ever play... wanna buy the old games?

I was introduced to the game by a demo, and I couldn't walk away from it. I'm not much of a person who sits down for hours at a time anymore, but I could see myself going back to my roots with this game. The player has total control of the board, as the actions are represented by a new Flick-it system that has you slide the analog stick one direction to the next to form combinations of tricks.

This game is a pleasant relief from the supernatural moves made possible in the Tony Hawk series. The moves are more realistic, as in a kickflip is a kickflip, as opposed to a Madonna to Christ air 900 in TH series.

One thing I enjoy is playing around with the "edit replay" mode, when you get several camera angles to which you can edit and adjust the picture. It's a unique feature that I haven't experienced before.

If you're looking for an interesting game that's not the same as all the other skateboarding games out there. Skate is my first choice for you.

My son begged for this game it was $60 in stores we checked ebay out and of corse we could get it cheaper on ebay! Just looking for the right seller with good trusted feedback. We did good we paid less for the game and recieved the game fast and with no problems!

This is one of the best games for PS3 with superb graphics and challenging tricks on the skateboard. If you liked games like Tony Hawk you'll love this game. Enjoy!!!

This game is fantastic! The graphics are just amazing. it is very realistic and just overall fun. the only thing is you cant get off your board, but it doesnt really matter

The city, the crowds, the tricks and analog that connect ur thumbs to move like u are really skating. If u like challenge and something new!!! this is the game for u.
THPS does tricks by pressing the 3 buttons (Square - flip, Triangle - grind, Circle - grab) but little on timing and where you should land. Skate is all about accuracy and i should say SKILLS. this game is more about being realistic and being creative.
IF you enjoy FREE to ROAM games like GTA, NFS...u will probably enjoy this game as much.

THe only bad point about this game is...the complexity of the tricks and the precise accuracy to land a trick =D It's a challenge..have fun...

I like this game a lot. You have so much more freedom than the THPS games. In Skate, one has the full control over you character when on the board. Another aspect that I like is the ability to replay whatever I have done in the last 30 seconds and save it or put it on the internet.

More realistic enviorment, had hours of fun, pick it up. better then tony hawks. the camer angles are great, very vivid like, with the fish lense, if you liked the tony haw franchise, you will love this title, as it has more maps, more user uploaded content, and servers are still up for this game.

i dont know how to play the ps3 but my son has played this game and he said it is awesome so i thought i would get it for him for christmas.

good game very funny but it was with finger traces in the disc and the case has signs of use but a hard use not like new as was described but it works fine

EA made a great game in skate. The flick it stick is so great and it allows you to do real tricks. No more double back flips down 3 flights of stairs. It brings the realness to skateboarding to the ps3
