Outrageous Fun this oldie but goodie i still a clasic among whoopie fans , as i am cleaning out my vedio liabary today and llisting my tapes I am going to review eac h one of them and this one is truly funny., with incredible music sister at is unforgettable comedy .

) Whoopi Goldberg shakes up the stagnant convent and parish in this comedy classic. Rather than just blending in while hiding out there, the lounge singer in her just cannot be contained and soon even the Vatican hears of what she has done. A thoroughly entertaining comedy, sure to bring enjoyment to every viewer.

This is a perfect role for Whoopi. She gets the opportunity to be funny, play a part she really gets into, and makes a hard to believe character realistic enough to fit the role.
The VHS version was going bad, and we wanted this movie as part of our library in a format we could enjoy for years to come. Glad we were able to get the DVD version at a reasonable price. Transaction with eBay was easy and bought both this movie with Whoopi and Sister Act 2 for the same reasons.

sister actit is funny.the whole concept.i live woopie and magie smith and kathy and they made for great acting.it could have been written with disrespect toward the churh but good thinking and writting keep it light and respectful.again there are times when i don't want tothink but want to just be entertained. and sister act does just that.

Sister ActWhat a fantabulous movie. I think I enjoyed it even more due the fact I'm Catholic. I identified with the little girl and her antics and then when she was forced to become a nun and go under the supervision of Mother Superior, it brought back all of her past memories and it reminded her just how much she disliked being in such a regimented situation.
I have watched this movie so many times my husband just groans when he hears the music.
One act of kindness to help a wronged woman, witness to a brutal murder, leads us into a way of life in a convent. Shows how two women who oppose one another come to respect each others way of life and in the end they become the best of friends.
Sister Mary Clarence,Whoopi Goldberg, because of her love of music, brings a dying Catholic parish back to life and the result of music expertise causes the Pope to come to the parish and hear the nuns sing their new way of expressing themselves in an upbeat performance of reworded everyday music.
A definite family oriented movie except for the murder scene.
I give it 6+ Stars (5 being the highest rate)
I just love this movie and finally purchased it in the DVD format. My VHS is so beat up, I doubt if it will play anymore.
