Pleasant easy listening cd for driving, or at home. :-)

The Carpenters are one of the best examples of easy listening. I love this cd and find it very calming while driving long distances with obnoxious aggressive drivers around. I know, I know easy listening stuff can be kind of dry and probably everyone has heard Carpenters songs in "muzak" form. This cd is the real deal, Karen Carpenter's voice sure is the beautiful real deal as opposed to boring redone (non-vocal, unoriginal) versions of their songs by other musicians. I don't know alot about The Carpenters complete songs; this cd has the pop basics--"We've Only Just Begun", "Hurting Each Other", "Top Of The World", etc. I would highly recommend this cd to anyone trying stay calm around stress and obnoxious, pushy people and/or situations. I know it calms me in times of stress.

THE CARPENTERS WERE A BIG PART OF MY LIFE IN THE 60'S AND 70'S AND I REALLY ENJOY THE MEMORIES AND THE SOUNDS OF THE PAST.

The worst service as well as rude and abusive seller
Review created: 12/10/08

This seller was found to be 100% for feedback.

I made a purchase of the Carpenter's for a Belated Birthday present to my daughter.

I presented the different address to this seller. Never a CD was seen.

I opened a dispute with PayPal because this CD was never received.

I have received at least 3 really rude and abusive emails off the ebay record from this seller and never could figure out who or how to send them.

Now this wonderful seller has given me a refund however wants me to repurchase the item.

This time if I do so I pray it will be courteous and be mailed to my address instead of my daughters so I can turn around a send it back to her via post office fees.

I did not find justice in this case. I will

Never use this seller again.......k

  The CD

This CD has most of the hit songs The Carpenters made, it's sometimes hard to find a CD you are looking for without spending alot of time and gas finding it, I have purchased alot of items from ebay and I never worry if the item is quality, plus I save money, time and have fun all at the same time.

  The Carpenters at their best
Review created: 06/25/08

I have always liked the songs that The Carpenters did, which is why I bought this CD. To me, these are their Greatest Hits. I grew up listening to these songs with my sister, which brings back fond memories of when we were younger. Karen Carpenter has a very unique vocal style. From the beginning to the end of this album is like taking a walk down memory lane to when things did not look like anything was wrong. It's refreshing to hear the classics before most albums started having the parental advisory sticker on them, because of the profanity found in some of the lyrics of today's music. (Don't get me wrong, I do like some of today's music, even with the profanity... just to clarify that I'm not into today's music). These songs harken back an era that will most likely not be heard of again. For the fans of The Carpenters, this is a definite must (if you don't already have it).

Love songs that are sung with a heavenly voice endure, I find calming. Clarity, easy beat, and purposeful song writing are the very best that I've ever
heard is from the Carpenters.
