I bought this curriculum to use with my three and four year old boys to teach phonics and reading. It is perfect for any child who loves music. The curriculum combines the basics of language arts with the joy of music. I'm sure we will be singing the alphabet sounds for years to come.

I am going to add a bit after having used the curriculum. This curriculum is very simple and I didn't find it to be challenging for my three and four year old boys. Even my one year old daughter joined in with most of the projects. We had fun going through it but if you are looking for some really substantial curriculum this might not be the choice for you. The songs are really good as music is a great way to help kids learn anything. Overall, the curriculum is good but not as challenging as I thought it would be. I wouldn't use it again as a prep for K5. It is good for teaching colors, shapes, and letters but my boys already knew their colors and shapes so it was mostly a review.

One last comment is that I didn't find the curriculum to be extremely user friendly...and I used to be a teacher and am familiar with curriculum. Maybe mine was missing some of the instructions but I was doing some guess work as to what things went together to form each lesson.

Sing, Spell, Read, Write starts at the very beginning. Through multisensory activities (including fun songs that I often catch myself and my children humming), it guides kids through the building blocks of language. There are games included that my children LOVE and sometimes beg for.

Before long my son was reading street signs and bedtime books, which was HUGE, and I cannot pretend that it had much to do with my teaching ability. It walks you through and becomes the most enjoyable part of the day-for the teacher AND the kids!

Best of all, he is no longer afraid of books. I was pleasantly surprised that it lived up to all the reviews I'd previously read. A+

We bought the SSRW combined kit for K and 1. We love it. The start of the K program was too easy so we easily skipped on. It is comparable to the start of other K cirriculums. It is a really good program. It appeals to the learning styles of our homeshooled sons. It is very re-usable year after year. All you would ever need to replace would be the workbooks- you can order those online at the publishers web-site. It is a lot of fun. The games are good, and keep things moving. The songs are fast paced so learn them first so you can practice them with the kids.
For our boys- this is just the perfect fit; we were using a total language arts cirriculum that none of us were enjoying- we are enjoying this! It is repetitive, fun, rewarding- the kit we have even came with a reward chest full of 'prizes'. The biggest reward is the confidence they have now for reading.

This is a great curriculum for starting homeschooling or for preparing your child for kindergarten. It's fun, interesting and teaches great skills such as phonemic awareness. We highly recommend it!

This is a comprehensive and very fun preschool curriculum that can be used in a classroom setting or in a homeschool setting. The topics covered include colors, shapes, alphabet letter names and sounds, classifying, sequencing, directional concepts, opposites, seasons, counting to 10, and about zero. There are more than enough activities for each topic so you can pick and choose which activities to do. There are also book lists, songs, games, cards, and hands on activities. As a previous public school teacher, I highly recommend the program as an excellent way to prepare a child for kindergarten.

This product is a classic for teaching young children phonics. I used it 16 years ago and knew it was the program I wanted to use with our preschool granddaughter. The seller was most helpful and considerate, as well.

This program is great to give your child that extra push they need when learning their phonics. It's fun and exciting. The music is fantastic.
