Martha Vaughan & Phoebe Gaughan both designed books layout. I saw properties of fiber which was excellent to know. Wool, Silk, Rayon, Nylon and more specific points on advantages / care / disadvantages & uses of each.
If you never sewed before this is covered inside book chapter 4 The Sewing Basics using a machine. Wonderful walls and ceilings cover techniques and new ideas for your home.
Pillow Pizzazz is great to read about page 151 tips are explained throughout book for easier ways of accomplishment. I think this was very great. Decorative accessories are covered on page 186, very interesting to read about. Timesavers will also show you better and easier ways to decor your home.
247 pages will reward you greatly with demo plans and ideas, maybe you can take a design and change it into your own.

A friend loaned me this book when I told her I was having a hard time finding directions for making roman shades for my windows. This book had wonderful easy to follow, step by step instructions for my shades. They turned out great! In looking through the book, I found a lot of other useful information. Besides several other window treatments, it included how to make a duvet cover for a bed, daybed treatments, chair slipcovers, along with basic sewing skills. This is one of those 'must have' books for anyone from a beginner sewer to an advanced seamstress. When I had to return the book, I immediately looked it up on ebay and bought it. Even though I've been sewing over 45 years, I still need simple to follow directions, with visual pictures. Simplicity has long been known for easy to follow directions and this book complies with that tradition. I am very happy to have it for easy reference!
