I ordered this 2001 book, by Pamela Hastings, for help in creating professional-looking pillows for my new leather couches. Purchased pillows cost $15.00 and up, and I could not find the southwestern design that I wanted. Also, I wanted pillow covers that could easily be removed for washing. There are five pillow projects in the book that, in my opinion, range from simple to difficult. A beginning sewer could find this book as valuable as a more experienced sewer. The book contains a color photo of every finished project for tablecloths, seat covers, duvet covers, pillow shams, cabinet covers and embellishments. The directions include color illustrations. I am deciding between two of the pillow projects that I will work on as soon as I find my southwestern yardage. Every review, I think, should have at least one criticism. The text uses a small font in light print and I would appreciate a larger font for ease in following the directions. LB 2008
