Publisher's Note Today, slipcovers look more like slips and less like covers--designed to show off a piece of furniture rather than conceal it. Try this imaginative collection of sewing projects for new looks, facelifts, and special holiday decorations. Projects feature a variety of tablecloths, chair skirts, seat cushions, chairback covers, bar stool covers, duvets, as well as embellishments such as pleats, ruffles, shaped hems, ties, and shades--made by stamping, stenciling, embroidery, ribbon trims, and laminating. | Find errors in the product description? Reviews Review created: 03/16/08(updated 03/16/08) by: 1 of 1 people found this review helpful. I ordered this 2001 book, by Pamela Hastings, for help in creating professional-looking pillows for my new leather couches. Purchased pillows cost $15.00 and up, and I could not find the southwestern design that I wanted. Also, I wanted pillow covers that could easily be removed for washing. There are five pillow projects in the book that, in my opinion, range from simple to difficult. A beginning sewer could find this book as valuable as a more experienced sewer. The book contains a color photo of every finished project for tablecloths, seat covers, duvet covers, pillow shams, cabinet covers and embellishments. The directions include color illustrations. I am deciding between two of the pillow projects that I will work on as soon as I find my southwestern yardage. Every review, I think, should have at least one criticism. The text uses a small font in light print and I would appreciate a larger font for ease in following the directions. LB 2008 Review ID: 10000000006220796 Was this review helpful? Report this review |
