The first believable tv show that aired in the early 80s. Starring Francis Jameson Parker III (A. J. Simon), also Gerald McRaney (Rick Simon), Mary Carver (Cecilia Simon), Jeannie Wilson (Janet Folwer)...and a numerous cast of tvs well known and a few unknowns of the time.
Why did this show last for so long? It was believable...two brothers, who work as private detectives, keeping each other out of trouble. Or even trying to keep each other alive. One more time here, another instance calling from Mexico, to have mom get a mortgage on her house to help bail her sons out of jail. Yes it was a believable story. And it had people glued to the tv sets every thursday night at 7 pm. We all watched the same shows. All laughed at the same small insidous jokes. A tv show that was well written, and all of us remember those times oh so much better. And here we had to wait until syndication was finished to get a copy of our favorite tv shows.
AJ and Rick Simon, on dvd...want to share some happy moments, with the old lost feelings of the today youth....get the coke and popcorn, get a copy of this tv show sit down, and watch the first disc...your children and grandchildren will thank you. My daughter did...and now she is hooked as well...
Where have all the great tv shows gone? We need more tv shows like simon & simon, Stingray, Magnum,pi....and the goofy show like the equalizer...all of the favorite 4...todays youth will be saddened for not enjoying family time with us again, as we sit and tell them about what we did and what we watched...
get them young...watch the old tv shows...and be happy once again!

Simon & SimonYou can't help but love these two, so opposite, brothers. The antics they get themselves into...and out of are so purely entaining and feel good. This is a show that even though at times a little slapstick it is so fun to watch.
This was a show I always enjoyed and just "had" to own a copy for myself. I'm sorry to hear they probably will not be bringing out more seasons of Simon and Simon. The later shows got a little more "polished" but were still really good shows. For an evening of laughs don't miss Simon and Simon.

Da über die Serie bereits an anderer Stelle viel geschrieben wurde, sollen Gegenstand dieses Testberichtes eher technische Fragen sein.
Die Box enthält vier DVDs mit insgesamt 13 Episoden. Extras sind - mit Ausnahme einer trailer show - nicht vorhanden.
Sprache ist ausschließlich englisch; Untertitel gibt es ebenfalls nur in englisch (was für amerikanische DVDs nach meinen bisherigen Erfahrungen ohnehin eine Ausnahme ist).
Die DVDs sind im NTSC-Format und weisen den Regional Code 1 auf, was für die Wiedergabe einen DVD-Player voraussetzt, der mit diesen beiden Spezifikationen zurecht kommt, sofern man nicht einen PC zur Wiedergabe verwenden möchte. Ein geeignetes Gerät ist zum Beispiel der Toshiba SD-160SE.
Wie so oft fallen auf die aus den USA nach Deutschland importierten DVDs Zoll (3,50% des Warenwertes) und Einfuhrumsatzsteuer (19,00% des Warenwertes) an. Dies ist beim Bieten zu berücksichtigen, da dies Kosten sind, die zum Kaufpreis und zu den Kosten für P&P hinzuzurechnen sind.
Die Dauer für den Versand ist unterschiedlich. Zum Teil habe ich DVD-Boxen schon nach vier bis fünf Tagen erhalten, zum Teil hat es fünf bis sechs Wochen gedauert, bis die DVDs angekommen sind.
