SimCity Societies (PC Games, 2007)

This game is too cartoony and makes Sim City 4 look that much better. This is the first attempt to meld The Sims with Sim City, so it is a painful pairing. The realism has left and I may-as-well be playing The Sims on PS2 (that's how bad this is). Not to mention I am running 1GB RAM and 16X DVD-RW and the game is choppy at default settings. I will just wait for the next version and hope that it is improved.

i have played lots of sims games & the simcity franchise this game is the best ever of those simcity creations what i like in this version is a sort of combination of the the sims and the sim city games sort of the people meet the places and i like the remove of some of the real technical details of the game like water pipes and power lines that was on the super anal side for me this no is more user frendly and i think it should be more approachable for a newbie just learning the vertues of simulation games if you are ready for a break from running down hallways blowing brains all over ugly wall papper then give this newest game from ea and there simcity line sim city societies

I read all the reviews and knew going in that SimCity Societies would not be challenging, and it wasn't, and I had no problems with that. I just wanted to create a city and be creative with it. I will say that the lack of heavy interactivity with sims was a little bit dissappointing, but, the game had it's positive sides too. There were lots of buildings to choose from, and it wasn't way too hard to be able to be creative in my city building. The game's playability isn't infinite, but, if you get it cheap it'll probably be worth it. My one suggestion is DO NOT buy the game used. I made the mistake of buying a used copy only to find that someone else had already registered that. This would be fine were it not for the fact that YOU have to have the registration account or else you can not access the downloadable content that EA makes availible on their site. I found this dissappointing because some of the downloadable content available only on the official site was pretty cool. Long story short, it's a fun game that'll keep you busy for a bit, but, don't expect to be playing it months from now, just to get maybe a week or so of really good play out of it, and then return to it for an hour or so every now and then.

Being a Sim City Fan from the first on Nintendo to Sim City Four for PC it was another upgrade and challenge for me. It is different and what I like is you can make your own type of city. The variations are endless. You can make it high, low ,or mixed societies if you like. It's worth the price.

In the sense that you start out like any SimCity game, very small with basic tools and needs. And as thing grow you have more on your plate to handle. It is the best way to allow you to learn and play at the same time.

This is probably the best Sim City game ever. Excellent Graphics, large choice of buildings and accessories.

Not worth the money. Game is extremely buggy. I could not get it to run on a Dell XPS gen 4, even after 3+hours of trying to make it work.

This game is lots of fun for even the novice Sim City player. You don't have to worry about raising and lowering taxes or powerlines, etc.

I played for about an hour and i don't like it at all. NOT a true sim city. DON"T buy if you are looking for a city simulator. buy simcity 4.

This is a great game with one drawback, it constantly crashes! As soon as you think it's going well, it crashes again. The update from the game company helps, but it only keeps it from crashing every hour - instead it's about every three. Good luck!

The game is pointless, plain and simple.
It gets incredibly boring within minutes, and my computer went through major lag if I built a city that was starting to get a little large - and my computer is pretty up to date on graphic drivers.
Just don't waste your time with this game, wait for the next generation simcity game (if you haven't played Simcity 4, that is a great game).

Game play moves VERY slow, Buildings are cool but hard to manage with the new system of power. Not at all as good as Sim City 4. I hope this is NOT the new format that EA is going to with Sim City!

SimCity 4 es mi punto de partida para evaluar esta version, SC4 fue realmente bueno, revolucionario y muy adictivo. Esta version, aunque mejorada, queda atras de lo que hizo SC4, de hecho el aporte a este genero de juego, es mayor por parte de CityLife que el de SimCity Societies, no por eso deja de ser bueno, es especial para aquellos que juegan por vez primera este tipo de juego, sin embargo, esperaba mas de los desarrolladores de SC Societies, ya que despues de sc4 y con el aporte de citylife, societies deberia haber agregado un extra, algo diferente a lo ya aportado por City Life, sinceramente espero otra version de simcity que sea un parte aguas. Ya que considero que el verdadero precursor despues de lo hecho por SC4 es City Life y no Societies.

Despues de lo antes dicho, recomiendo que compren el SimCity BOX.

Jus tmore of the same Simcity stuff. I thought this game would be more fun than a regular Simcity game but it's like a mixture of the Sims and Simcity. It's okay to me.

I decided to buy this game because I have played the other Sim city games and liked them a lot. I purchased this game and installed the game with no problems. When i went to play the game I could only see half of the screen. I contacted there tech support and they told me that the game did not support my video chip set. The memory in my video card was good but the chip set was wrong. They offered to replace the game with a new sealed version but i declined. I wish that i could have played the game it looked really good. I gave the poor rating only because the fact that if the game only supports certain chip sets it should have a BIG warning on the front of it saying that it only supports certain chip sets. I think that its bad advertising on there part.

The game is very different from all the others. I bought it because it's part of the SimCity line but it is just too simplified for someone who's been playing the game for years. Unlimited money and limited buildings make it pretty easy, but only entertaining for a short while.

An excellent game. Highly detailed. Very life like and funny. My son really likes playing this game. We bought this game for my son and I and we play it often.

This game falls way short of the standards of the SimCity series! I am a huge fan of all of the SimCity games, however, this game falls way below expectations. All you do is place buildings throughout the entire game and the co-relations between a building and the requirements for that building are silly- for example, some buildings you can't place if you don't have enough art, some building you can't place if you don't have enough security. It just doesn't make sense at all and got very frustrating very quickly. I played the game for a total of 2 hours, got bored with it and uninstalled it. Save your money- don't buy this game!
