The Silver Metal Lover by Tanith Lee (1999, Paperback, Reprint)

This is one of my favorite books by Tanith Lee. I rank it with Drinking Sapphire Wine, Don't Bite The Sun and Sabella in line of my all time favorite books!

Set in the future where a human-like robot and a rich young woman fall in love and defy her mother to be together in poverty. The robot is an old soul in an artificial body. The ending will move you to tears!

I decided to buy this book because I had jsut read another book buy Tanith Lee & really enjoyed it. I loved this book!!! I can't say it enough!! Although it does not have what you would call a happy ending, the writing is clear, concise; the author's imagination is fabulous; the plot lines are well-constructed. And the book itself is simply to love, that's all I can say. . .
