An engrossing, beautiful, flakey movie

I have always been captivated by this movie. The visuals of the geodesic dome greenhouses travelling through space were unforgetable. The three robots Huey, Louie, and Dewey were the first non-human format robots I recall seeing in SciFi movies. The space hippie Bruce Dern was his usual flakey self. The plot is a little weak, but who cares. This was a major tree hugger movie, which I am not, but I love this movie. The extra material on the DVD I have is worth having, as I had no idea where the movie was actually filmed.
Donning asbestos underwear for anticipated flames .....
I LOVED the soundtrack, especially the songs by Joan Baez. I still remember the day I bought the vinyl LP and got it home, 20 years ago. It was a clear, transluscent, clorophyl colored green color.
