Silent Night- Illustrations by Thomas Kinkade
A favorite Christmas hymn is interpreted with a more contemporary twist by the "painter of light", Thomas Kinkade. In a brief introduction, he tells of his fondness for Christmas Eve as a time of "stillness" and the presence of God. Two stanzas of the hymn are accompanied by his sentimental, full page scenes of a village in winter. It's all nostalgia in his rendition of a turn of the century Christmas that could be European or American. Perfect for reading to the kids instead of the usual Twas the Night Before Christmas.
