Silent Night (DVD, 2005)

The story is based on a true incident. I liked the way the characters come together. In coming together the soldiers in the movie realize they are more similiar than dissimiliar. Truely a good movie. It doesn't contain the mushy sentiment you get with most christmas movie. It's one movie even my husband likes.

After 39 days I still havent recieved my DVD "Silent Night". I have emailed more times than I care to remember but never reiceved any reply's. I have never left a negative feedback and Ive been a member since 1999, but I will be leaving a negative one now. I cant beleive that someone can just take your money and not deliver a product in return. It surprizes me more that this company does this all the time to people and still has a rating of 98.9. EBay allows this kind of behavior and I have lost confidence in eBay as a result.

This movie was based on a true story. I am sure that some things were exaggerated in parts, but the events were exciting to watch. The story is about what happened when some U.S soldiers meet up with some German soldiers during WWII. Both groups end up staying for Christmas Eve at a small cabin with a German woman (Linda Hamilton) and her young son.
The events that take place in one short night show the humanity in all of us. The spirit of Christmas and good will toward men prevails, even in a war zone. This movie was warm, a little far fetched at times, but gave me a great feeling…and maybe a few tears. The wonderful performance by Linda Hamilton and supporting actors brought the story to life. This is a thumb’s up from your aunt_nancy!

I was really overwhelmed when I first saw this movie. It is really a GREAT! I think someone would have to understand the time period of WWII to completely understand the meaning of this storyline. Its the story of a very brave German woman, her son and their cabin they take refuge in during the war.

Acting was very good - story line very good - a great movie to watch anytime, but especially at Christmas

Like this movie,saw it on tv.Was curious if it was ever released on dvd or vhs,so I looked on e-bay. To my surprise I found it on dvd and purchased it. It was a resonable price. Thats one thing I like about e-bay,if there was ever something made,and you cant find it anywhere,look on e-bay 9 out of 10 it is there and for sale. THANK YOU !!!!!!

This has nothing to do with the movie I bought. I would just like to tell everybody about how bad Ebay is! They take your money and when you have a problem because you are the seller they do nothing to help. I have listed the same item several times, it has been sold twice and never paid for. When turning the non paying bidder to Ebay they do nothing about it. They give the non paying bidder one of the really scary strikes on their name (bet the person cannot even sleep at night ove that)and then they still manage to take your listing fees and anyting else they can steal from you. My days with Ebay are numbered , and I hope you will all think twice about doing business with them.

Loved this story and shared it with other family members. What IF 3 American soldiers met up with 3 German soldiers during the war and were of necessity stranded together during a Christmas season? What IF they got to know each other and could therefore look past the 'enemy' label. The neatest thing about the story is the difference one woman can make when she sticks to her values and this is the role Linda Hamilton plays in the story. Good story for all the family if they appreciate one that is not all action and graphics.

I never got it, ordered in the beginning of December, finally e-mailed company they were apoligetic and are going to repay me but I have not seen it yet. They said there was a problem with shipping and the order seems to have been lost in the shuffle?

Tried again with another company and had to change password also wanted to change shipping address, "won" the item but again can't get it due to the above mentioned problem.

It is a great story and one that appealed to our teen age grandchildren and other guests when we shared it at Christmas

I've known about this story thanks to the old Unsolved Mysteries TV series. The boy from the story was looking to contact any of the soldiers who were alive 50 years after this event. He found one of the Americans. I bought the movie because it's a true story from WWII Christmas 1944 just like Joyeux Noel is a true WWI story from Christmas 1914. I own that movie too.

FANTASTIC MOVIE. I WAS SO TOUCHED BY ELIZABETHs STRENGTH AND WISDOM AND ABILITY TO TOUCH EACH MANS HEART. MAKES YOU THINK ABOUT THOSE WHO ARE SO FAR AWAY FROM HOME FIGHTING FOR MY FREEDOM NOW.

GREAT MOVIE! IT MAKE IT GREAT BECAUSE IT IS BASED ON A TRUE STORY. IT TOUCHED MY WIFE AND I. THAT AT CHRISTMAS TIME DURING WORLD WAR II, MEN THAT ARE FIGHTING AGAINST EACH OTHER CAN BE BROUGHT TOGETHER AND BECOME FRIENDS. IT WAS A VERY TOUCHING MOVIE. FANTASTIC HOLIDAY MOVIE!

I am in the process of writing a book on specific areas of WWII. I had heard many tales during the different wars where people put aside their differences in order to unite in a common sacred time. I believe we as people can do this. This movie, "Silent Night", depicts what can be accomplished when we are willing to give up our rights. It's a good story which teaches us that there are common bonds between people, bonds that can knit us together if we are willing to step out and reach others in love and understanding.
I plan to share this movie with my grandchildren this holiday season. I want them to see through this movie that even in war, we can be united in the things that truly matter.

This movie was excellent! It does have some squeemish parts when the soldiers leg is being worked on, but it is a beautiful story of brotherly love at Christmas. It made me realize how blessed we are to live in a FREE country.

Excellent movie and story line. Not much action, more like a drama. American and German soldiers come together on a Christmas night during WWII.

I bought the good movie Silent Night because my mom wanted it. This seller is one of few who had it at a very reasonable price. DVD was brand new and works perfectly

This is different type of Christmas story... I had seen a bit on TV and wanted to see the whole story... It was well worth the purchase.. I Loved the story that no matter what where we come from we really are no different than one another... and during wartime that there is some kindness no matter the war...
Some may think it is an ok movie, but it is a good one and I feel it should be part of anyones Christmas collection of movies...
