Signs, Symbols & Omens by Raymond Buckland (2003, Paperback, Illustrated)

Mr. Buckland gives a few general "folk-isms" about signs and omens...some things you may have heard from your Grandmother! =)

Overall, a good reference book if you're going to use it for writing your own spells or runes. A little sparce of some of the descriptions/meanings in the Omens section...could have covered more catagories. Perhaps he'll write a book just on Omens. I found that I was a little disapointed in that chapter, as I was really looking forward to seeing if there were more reference to what I'd heard from different cultures on what, for example, "a cat crossing your path" meant.

Overall, this would be/is a great go-to book for confirmation on how to draw some symbols or characters or just what they mean for your own Book of Shadows.

I'm interested a lot in ancient symbols and their meaning, so I figured the book would be a good read. It gives lots of examples of symbols, but gives very little history and the author seems extremely biased.
