This book kept my 8 and 10 year old on the edge of the seat as we read this great historical fiction book! Boys will especially love this adventure story of a young boy and his responsibility for his family home in the wilderness. Wonderful representation of Native Americans just before being driven off their land! My kids kept asking for more!

This book is a wonderful book for children. The story of a young boy left behind by his father while he goes and gets the rest of the family is a riveting adventure. It takes us to the world of Indians and gives examples of true friendship, courage, and how the Indians moved from place to place depending on the season. I would recommend it for any young readers looking for a heartwarming, educational expierence.
