Awesome phone system with features galore!!!!!!!!
    Review created: 12/15/07

I've had it for about two years and have yet to find one thing to complain about. The sound quality is superb. The battery life is great. I could go on and on. Its an expensive system but worth every penny and then some!!!

      Handsome Phone-Well Made but....

Pro: 1.Exquisite design-the best there was.
    2. Voice clarity is excellent in both directions.
    3. The directory (contacts) can be easily transferred to the handsets with ease.
    4. There are 4 separate mailboxes on the base station. Each uses their own message.
    5. Phone calls can be digitally recorded.
    6. I have my base station next to my wireless router and no interference problem.
    7. The extension handsets have a speakerphone which sounds great.
    8. The 2 line system provides many extra options. E.G. Conference calls
    9. Names can be assigned to the extensions. This is very helpful when using the intercom feature.
    10. The extensions can be easily modified to act as ROOM MONITORS. An extra set of ears!

CON:1. Sometimes the answering machine just records blank space.
    2. The microphone for the speakerphone is sensitive to air movement. The conversation is broken up because the phone doesn't know whether to receive or transmit.
    3. The memory for the time, date, and logs will be cleared if their is just a micro-second of power outage.
    3. Even though the base station has a corded handset, the phone will not function during a power outage. Keep a cheap corded phone handy.
    4. There are only 11 spaces available for speed-dial.

Summary: The sleek charcoal color, and mechanically great buttons (compared with most of the newer, cheaper phones), along with the clear voice quality remind one of the great phones of by-gone days. Too bad this model has become extinct.
Using the plethora of features is not intuitive, so be sure to have a manual to fully realize the potential.
When buying a used phone from someone, be SURE TO SECURE THE PIN number or you won't be able to utilize many great features. An alternative method would be to have the current owner reset the PIN to the default 0000.

      No customer support
    Review created: 08/17/07

I truly like my Gigaset 8825 - liked it so much that I added 4 handsets second hand. When I bought the first unit I downloaded part of the manual. Stupid me! Have not been able to get anymore info since. Have a problem with handsets not ringing. Tried everything, nothing helps. Siemens USA can't help, Siemens Germany won't help. There is no more customer support or manual available anywhere, Siemens does not even have it in their product list anymore. I

      Worlds best phone system
    Review created: 12/26/06

It is an absolute shame they stopped making these. It is an amazing system. The best part is the voice announce for caller ID. You can set a voice tag so when someone calls, the base plays a few seconds of your recorded voice according to the caller ID. ie. "Mom car". You know exactly who is calling while the phone is still ringinging.

The only issue with these is sometimes the base screen fails. Thankfully, that is easily fixed from a pleathora of repair places that replace the screen for a few dollars.

It is really an A+ phone nobody should be without.

      World Class Design

World Class Phone with outstanding features and incredible design.
There is nothing out there that compares or even comes close to the Siemens 8825. It is a petty that Siemens stopped making phones. Now we are stuck with ugly phones from Panasonic and AT&T.
