Side-Saddle Riding for Beginners by Charlotte Brailey Kneeland, Jan Olson Floyd (1994, Book, Illustrated)

This was my first sidesaddle text when I started riding, as it had just been printed. Now, some 20 years later, I still recommend it to all my starting students. In fact, I would suggest any sidesaddle rider read this book, as brushing up on basics never hurt anybody.

Mrs. Kneeland's text is clear and straightforward. No wasting of words in the flowery, but sometimes difficult to read, prose of the antique texts. Mrs. Floyd's simple line drawings are easy to understand, as they remove the visual clutter of photographs.
