Shutter (DVD, 2009, Rated Edition)

The trailers for this movie made it look pretty good, but it turned out to be not the best movie. It delivers the scares, but there are too many 'false alarms'. A lot of the love stuff in the beginning could've been left out. The real horror starts a little too late, and basically is pretty corny. Most of the acting is pretty bad, and some of the dialogue seems to be totally improvised.

This is one Japanese horror remake that shouldn't have been made at all in my opinion. It has a pretty bad plot that takes a long time to unfold and, at times, is rather boring. Warning - If you want to see a movie, just avoid this, and see something else instead. Trust me.

I bought Shutter because I'd seen it in theaters as soon as it came out, and I loved it so much I had to get the movie. It's a predominantly-Japanese influenced horror movie about a presumably American couple who are newly married, and on their way to Japan for both a honeymoon and a job that will further the husband's career. Strange things - terrifying things - begin to happen, leaving the wife wondering if there is something more she should know about the love of her life. Throughout the entire movie, their relationship is extremely strained: to her, he is hurtful and closed-minded. To him, she is immature and maybe a little bit insane. But in an oddly direct manner, someone points the way to the truth, and she finds it for herself...

He wasn't just the love of someone's life...but also their death.

I bought it because I liked the Movie previews I saw on TV....I watched it as soon as I got it and was VERY PLEASE...It was GREAT....If you like scary but not all blood and gore then your going to like this one....

If I had purchased these movies locally they would have been much, much more expensive. I received my movies in excellent condition. No scratches or skips. I am pleased.
