Shopaholic & Baby by Sophie Kinsella (2007, Hardcover)

If you enjoy the other Shopaholic books, you will love this one as well. Becky is as funny and loveable as always.

This book is classic Sophie Kinsella at her absolute VERY best! The book is so funny that you just can't stop laughing and then reading and then laughing!

Just a quick story: One very late night while reading the book with my book light in bed, I came to the part in the book where Becky along with her mother and her mothers' neighbor Janice go to Becky's first ever prenatal birth preparation class. As I started reading the section I began to snicker under my breath, as the chapter progressed the snickering lead to muffled giggles that caused my entire body to jerk as I tried to squelch any noise that would wake my sleeping husband. Then finally as the prenatal class went into full swing I could no longer hold back the outright laugh-out-loud belly laughs that woke up my very tired & sleepy husband which prompted him to smile at my genuine giggles & ask "What could you be reading that is so funny that you are actually laughing so hard about"! Then he saw the title of the book and said, "Oh, one of Sophies books again"!

This book will not dissappoint you! The only dissappointment I had was when I finished the book and wanted to keep the story going! This is an absolutely fun and great read for all ages and genders! ENJOY IT!!!

In this book Becky is having a baby. Follow her through her many cravings to shop while pregnant. This book is so funny, it is an outstanding read. You don't even have to read the previous books. Kinsella makes smooth transitions into each book that its easy to catch up.I won't ruin the story but it is an amazing story. It would be perfect for the shopaholic fan, and even those that are having their first child. I would recommend this book to anyone. I love it so much.

Doesn't anyone else feel as though they are reading the same book over and over again with the Shopaholic series?
I do. I think that Kinsella has become lazy due to her success. She has found a formula that works and continues to milk it. The first three books in the series were new and fun, but it just went downhill from there. I know this is chicklit, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't have any substance or effort put into it.
Becky never grows up or changes as a character. Its not cute that she still acts this way when she's pushing thirty... and is about to become a mother. Speaking of which, for a novel called "Shopaholic and Baby", there is very little mention of the baby or motherhood (outside of shopping). Becky doesn't seem to be interested in becoming a mother at all. Her pregnancy, in my opinion, is nothing more than a thinly veiled gimmick used to further increase book sales. It did not really change or add much to the novel.
Kinsella is a talented author, but I think this series has run its course and it is time for her to move on and explore other storylines.

I LOVE THIS BOOK! I have purchased all the books in this series, and by this author and she is just incredible. You will not want to put this down!

I love the entire Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella, so I had to read this one too! This was very humorous! I recently had a baby & was able to see how silly some aspects of pregnancy & baby preparation can be.

If you loved the other Shopaholic books, you won't be disappointed!! Loved it!! Sophie Kinsella really showed her knowledge of fahion and baby fashion. She continues the story from the previous book very well. This books starts only a few months from the last one. Even if you have never read any of the previous Shopaholic books, you won't have a hard time understanding the story. She explains everyone from the other books.

I bought this book because I read all the previous Shopaholics. This one is brilliant and fun. A fast read. Sophie Kinsella keeps up the fun of Becky!

I have all the other Sophie Kinsella books and I'm a huge fan of her writing. I own all the other books in the Shopaholic series, so buying this one was a no-brainer. I love them all, and no surprise, I loved this one too. I read it in just three days! It's laugh-out-loud funny! If you want an easy read and a good laugh, then I highly recommend reading it!

I bought Shopaholic & Baby by Sophie Kinsella because I have read all of her other books and I loved them. This book did not disappoint. It was the best one yet. By the time I got half way through the book, I could not put it down. I literally had to stay up late at night until I finished the whole book. Shopaholic & Baby was so hilarious that I was laughing out loud. I can not wait until Sophie Kinsella's next book!

I'VE READ THE OTHER SHOPAHOLIC BOOKS, AND THIS ONE WAS THE NEXT ONE. I CAN RELAX WHILE READING IT. THE BOOK WAS VERY CLEAN, LOOKED NEW. THE MAIN CHARACTER, BECKY, GOES THROUGH ALL SORT OF FUNNY ESCAPADES, WHICH KEEP YOU READING. I ONLY WISH THERE WERE MORE OF THESE KINDS OF BOOKS!

Really did not like this book too much. Found myself skipping ahead several times. To me seemed like a bad sitcom.

Becky Brandon (Bloomwood) is smarter, funnier, and whittier than ever in the lastest shopaholic book. Congrats to the Brandon's on their new bundle of joy!

Love it!!! Couldn't put this book down...I was really sad to have it come to an end, but I hope there's more to come :)

I love reading this series as it makes me laugh out loud at some of the ideas her character comes up with and being a blond myself, some of them I could totally understand the thought behind it. It is a laugh out loud book that can make you smile and forget any of your current problems. I can't wait until her next one comes out!

This book is hilarious! Just like Rebecca Brandon in all the other books. I definately think this will not be her last book.

I cannot say enough about this amazing author and series. I am in love. I had not been reading for years. Now thanks to Sophie I am a book worm. A book takes just a week. So this is the last one she has made so far and I am so sad that now I have to wait.

This is the best series to read in the right order. I also suggest the tapes for the first read. That way you get the cute british voice in your head for when you read later.

I cannot believe how easy she is to read. It is better than Grey's Anatomy.

Read this one after all the books before it. Otherwise you will be sad when you realize it goes in order. Each book leaves off from the one before.

I absolutely loved this book. Just as in past books Becky Brandon is hillarious. She never lets me down with at least a laugh a page. she is just so lovable! It is also a very easy read for anyone with any reading level. i would 100% recommend it.

I decided to buy this book because I've already read and own the first 4 books in the "Shopaholic" series: Confessions of a Shopaholic, Shopaholic takes Manhattan, Shopaholic Ties the Knot, and Shopaholic & Sister. I've been waiting for this cute "Shopaholic & Baby" for a long time! Sophie Kinsella is a talented author and her heroine Becky Bloomwood is plucky and lovable, and I think everyone can identify in some small way with her. The book is a great read, and especially perfect with summer coming up. Just make sure you read the other ones first!

An Absolutely funny read for those who have experienced the unknown of having a first baby. I loved to remember my first trials and tribulations with the newness of having a baby.

This is the first book that I had read from this series. It was ok. Some of the situations were quite a stretch. I bought this because it is applicable to me - I have shopped way too much for my babies. This is a light read and somewhat entertaining, but not enough for me to get any of the other books from the series to read.
