Shooter (DVD, 2007, Full Frame)

This is a movie about a sniper (Mark Wahlberg) who is one of the best in his field. Something went wrong in the past and now he live alone in the woods. People from the government approach him because there is a plan of killing the president of the USA and they want someone with his knowledge in order to avoid it. He accepts but something goes very wrong and he accused for the murder of someone. Now he tries to prove that he is not the killer while everyone is looking for him.
Very nice movie, nice with straight forward plot. The script has no holes and Mark Wahlberg acting is a good one.
If you like action, snipers, shooting etc is must see.
A movie to buy because you can see it again many times without getting bored.

"Shooter" is a well-presented political thriller., jam-packed with well-executed explosions and chases., but with an overused storyline. (The 'framed-I-didn't-do-it-and-I'll-find-out-who-did-myself-while-ducking-my-pursuers' concept that spawned "The Fugitive", "U.S. Marshals", "Bourne Identity"., and Presidential Assassination and Conspiracy that spawned "In The Line of Fire", "Absolute Power" and "Murder At 1600".
Mark Wahlberg, ("Invincible" and "The Departed"), rifles his way through as Bob Lee Swagger, an ex-Marine marksman who is framed as a Presidential Assassin. Lemkin and Director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) present grander statements about government corruption, military cover-ups, and a loss of faith in the American political system. Noble themes, for sure, and crafted with sledgehammer delivery., with shadowy conspiracies existing in every corner.
As the film opens, Swagger — three years after being abandoned by his superiors when a secret mission in Ethiopia went bad — has retired to the mountains of Wyoming. He shoots his own dinner and trusts no one., haunted by the death of his combat "spotter," Donnie (Lane Garrison), who was killed during the debacle in Ethiopia.
Swagger is officially out of the military sniper business, that is until a group of stony G-men, led by retired Colonel Isaac Johnson (Danny Glover) show up at Swagger's home with an offer Swagger should refuse — 'to use his marksman skills to help them foil a suspected Presidential Assassination'.
The following sequence of events contrive a dubious web.
The Assassination attempt takes an unexpected turn and Swagger's on the run, set up as the actual shooter, and left hung out to dry by Colonel Johnson, the FBI, the CIA., and anyone else with the power to help him. Only a newbie FBI agent, Nick Memphis ("World Trade Center's" Michael Pena), realizes that something's awry and pairs up with Swagger to expose the truth.
Meanwhile, Swagger convinces Donnie's Kentucky Widow, Sara (Kate Mara), to join the cause. She will help; undercover in blonde wig and hooker drag to extract crucial information.
Crisscrossing the U.S.A., Swagger tries to stay alive before the real hit men execute him. All the while., sifting through the explosions, contempt and action-sequences until the crucial, unexpected climax reaches it's finale.
All-In-All, "Shooter" is a good film., it's just getting into the "overdone story-concept" category. Still., an enjoyable action-film. (At-Face-Value).

I have never been a big Mark Wahlberg fan. So when this movie came out in the theatres I ignored and forgot about it. I was watching our local cable movie channel last night and I was able to catch it. Boy was I impressed.

The movie follows Wahlberg's character Swagger who is a sniper in the US army. After a mission goes wrong Swagger decides to remove himself from the military and retire into the mountains.

It is here that he is recruited by a mysterious clandestine group of people lead by Colonel Isaac Johnson (Danny Glover's character). He is then thrust into a conspiracy where Swagger is accused of murdering VIA snipping of an Ethiopian Arch Bishop.

The movie has lots of great action, a very good plot, and a few nice twists to keep you interested.

This is a movie my husband and I watched together. It may appear to be a manly movie, but it was very good! Mark Wahlberg was a former Marine sniper who is asked to show Danny Glover how he would assassinate the president so they can figure out how to stop it, but then of course he is set up for the shooting! Anyway, this movie is nonstop action and I reccommend it for the adults out there!

Shooter is a relatively recent movie, but still costs $20 or more in the stores. I purchased from the E-Bay store for the price, convenience, and the seller is trustworthy. I bought the movie for my boyfriend, and we've watched it several times already.

This is a great movie to watch since it's packed with action and keeps you on your seat wanting more of it. Great movie to watch!

I bought shooter a few days ago, but have seen the movie a few months ago. i have looked for a great deal and apparently found it. It is an action movie, and has shootings. It is definitely a guys movie. great film; would watch it over and over again. If you you like action, you will love this movie.

I have not yet had a chance to view it as it is one of my boyfriends birthday gifts but I'm sure I'll watch it in the next 2 weeks. But I know I love the movie. I made the purchase as a birthday present. Of course since I like the movie I will love the copy I bought from you. I hope to find more interesting dvds I see to my liking in your collections. Great movie. Really depicts the "corrupt" government that so many people believe we have. Wahlberg makes a great Marine Corps sniper in this movie. It's part Rambo part Jason Bourne, part CSI.

Very good move. Alot of action. My wife totally enjoyed it. We have shown it to friends and they have liked it.

I bought the Dvd Shooter last week and I most admit that this dvd is great ! There is a lot of suspense and big action scene. THis is the story of a Sniper that need to protect the president to being killed.

This was a really action packed movie. The main character really did a good job of getting back at the people who set him up. Loved the last part when the gas line was opened up, and the fireplace made the house blow up...great movie.

My husband has wanted this movie for sometime. We do not go to the movies in theaters because of the great expense so this has been a great help for us. I think he has watched this one over and over. Action packed is the best....

Great movie! Wahlberg has definitely topped himself with this performance. He plays USMC Gunnery SGT Bob Lee Swagger who is one of the most experienced snipers of the time. Rather not give away the story but it's full of twists and turns to keep the viewer glued to their seat. I've watched it 3 times now and have caught more and more of the detail that the actors must have had to train very hard to portray. Tactical reloads, stances, and the like but anyone can enjoy the story line. Wahlberg gets alot of critisism and reasonably so but this performance is his best work yet! If your into action and quick witted lines then watch it! If your a military buff watch it! Just watch it! Director Antoine Fuqua is AWESOME

NON STOP ACTION. JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU HAVE THE PLOT FIGURED OUT, THERE'S A TWIST AND SOME ACTION AND HUMOUR INVOLVED IN THE MOVIE AS WELL.

Looked like a action packed movie. I purchased and was not dissapointed. Movie has lots of twists and turns, in my opinion a very good movie.
