Shooter (Blu-ray Disc, 2007)

I have never been a big Mark Wahlberg fan. So when this movie came out in the theatres I ignored and forgot about it. I was watching our local cable movie channel last night and I was able to catch it. Boy was I impressed.

The movie follows Wahlberg's character Swagger who is a sniper in the US army. After a mission goes wrong Swagger decides to remove himself from the military and retire into the mountains.

It is here that he is recruited by a mysterious clandestine group of people lead by Colonel Isaac Johnson (Danny Glover's character). He is then thrust into a conspiracy where Swagger is accused of murdering VIA snipping of an Ethiopian Arch Bishop.

The movie has lots of great action, a very good plot, and a few nice twists to keep you interested.

first of all this movie was not suppose to be on blu-ray but some copies slipped out, so this movie is extremely hard to find. overall i was very pleased with the movie, i had no expectations not knowing what it was about, but it caught my attention right away and held it through the whole movie. 8.5 out of 10.

Works great shipped out ASAP. The snow scene at the end was worth every penny! Wahlberg does another great job in this movie but look out for The Happening this summer!

Not only is this a great movie, it's even better in hi-def with the uncompressed digital audio you only get from Blu-Ray. This is relatively difficult title to find on Blu-Ray due to Paramount's deal with HDDVD so when I saw it here on Ebay I had to pick it up. It was a little more money than your typical Blu-Ray movie because of it's low production but the price was fair and worth every penny in my opinion. Blu-Ray enhances any movie experience so any great movie like Shooter is a must have.

Blu-ray is encoded in High Definition 1080p format. The movie its sharpness, and eye-popping colors are just stunning. Black levels are inky with excellent grey shadow detail, and contrasts are deep. The movie itself is great and if you are already a fan of the DVD the Blu Ray is what you want. One problem with Blu Ray is that with the HD/Blu Ray debate some traditional stores are not stocking them until there is a clear winner. very good movie. My marine friend said it is very realistic as well for Mark trained with Marine snipers for this movie.

This movie is sick! The large of amount of movements and action this movie involves get your fist pumping and you will never get bored or get tired from watching this action packed adventure. I hope you check it out and enjoy the suspense!

i like the movie, good plot, you get the feel that you are almost really in the movie, so all around great movie even better on blu-ray.

Mark Walhlberg is a specially trained marksman "shooter" He is called in by his government to prevent a presidential assination. Thats where it gets interesting. There is some bad apples in the government. A very interesting movie. Definate buy. Amazing on Bluray.

I love this movie. Mark Wahlberg plays an outstanding role. The movie has a very good plot with a good supporting cast. Very thrilling and it definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Graphic, but a pretty good story. Not as good as the book though. Worth watching, but don't let small kids watch it.

This is one of my favorite movies! Great action and a great story line. Good actors and a lot of fun to watch. Some of it is dark humor but a good all around movie. Awesome movie to watch in HD with surround sound!
