Movie Description
The great Sonny Chiba (perhaps best known for his terrific turn in Quentin Tarantino's chopsocky homage KILL BILL) stars as Shogun, a brutal army commander, in this enjoyably campy tale of battle and vengeance set in 16th-century feudal Japan. When Takamura (Hiroyuki Sanada) returns home to the Mimochi clam after a long absence, he find that most of his people have been wiped out by Shogun's army on orders from the Emperor Hideyoshi, who wants to steal their cache of gold. Sanada soon proves to be an impressive (and often underappreciated) fighter, as Takamura schools himself in martial arts and sets out to avenge his people.
