Shoe Addicts Anonymous by Beth Harbison (2008, Paperback, Reprint)

I read a first printing from the library and there were some pretty simple typos/errors that were distracting.

Aside from that, it's a good read. It moves fast and the characters are interesting and very likable.

Helene is a mysterious, beautiful senator's wife. The senator is well, a typical, adulterous, egotistical senator and the reader doesn't get a real grip on why Helene is with him.

Lorna is probably my favorite. She is in debt thanks to her love of all things shoes.

Sandra is interesting. She's agoraphobic and a sex-phone operator who has a crush on her childhood friend.

Lastly, Joss is in a foul position as a nanny to Deena Oliver, rich lady from hell. You just know there's more to Deena that meets the eye but once again, unfortunately, it doesn't delve deep enough.

Pros: great dialogue, believable, cute, cute story.

Cons: someone please edit this book! Characters are just on the cusp of being well developed but not quite enough.

Read it if you like chick lit and/or shoes. You'll like it.

Harbison wrote a book for shoe lovers, no doubt about it. What she failed to do was to create a well-rounded protagonist or a thorough plot. As a shoe addict myself, it was fun to read about someone who goes into serious debt for shoes. The forced elements of danger put me off. This was fluff at its finest. Don't look for creative genius in literature in this book. Do look for a character whose major flaw is the love of good shoes.

Fast and fun to read. From the captivating opening sentence to the last, this book was totally enjoyable, with sympathetic characters, shoe addiction and eBay bidding madness that were terrifically described. Loved it!

I love this book, and believe that every person can relate to it. It has something for everyone to relate to, awkward romance moments, money troubles, lonliness/alienation from the world. Love this movie, and read it over and over again.

This book is a good read. Something for everyone out there to relate to, Including everyone who appreciates EBAY!

This really was a hilarious book. I really enjoyed it and stayed up late to finish it one night. If you have ever gone overboard on buying ANYTHING, you will enjoy this book!
