I loved this book amd it is one of my all time faborites. A mix of history of WW11 and a intense love affair and a dangerous spy mission that sends a secretary whose only real qualification is she speaks German and makes a mean strudel is sent to carry out a very intricate secret spy mission with her only contact is ironically her former boss who she is married to and feels inferior to him..She volunteers for this "job" to impress her very important husband and soon learns she is way over her head and refuses to give up. She meets up with her husband only a few times in her mission and you can feel his love and concern for her safety growing.Love prevails and delivers making this book a very memorable and heartwarming story. This book is so well written it takes you literally back in time to Nazi Germany and I actually felt I was there. The details and descriptions of this horrific war is somewhat disturbing because although it is mainly a romance novel the setting Nazi Germany is based on fact. This makes us feel the charactors emotions as if they are real. This is a mustread book for anyone, it is exciting and hours passed as I quickly turned this thrilling page turner as the plot thickens. It delivers a powerful romantic ending that is unforgettable. I loved it and read it recently again, it was even better the second time. .
