The early and mid-'90s were considered the golden era for RPGs, and Sega's Shining Force II only further strengthens that argument. One of the best tactical RPGs to ever grace our existence, the multitude of characters and various weapons at their disposal was practically unheard of. Admittedly there were other games that allowed you to play as Dragons, Phoenixes and Centaurs, and the evolution of these characters had been done before too. But for the time, and even today, nothing has quite perfected it like this. In 2004, Last year Resurrection of the Dark Dragon was released on Game Boy Advance. After so many years the battles were still fun and challenging, further proving why these games are some of the best ever made.
