Shaq-Fu is not a championship title.

Waiting for the big launch of game for the Fall 2006, I am going back and raiding my collection of old titles to review.

Graphics: 2.5/5
At the time, the graphics were not actually bad and colorful. Though this was nothing to make it stand out.

Gameplay: 1/5
The specials are few, and rip off many other 2-D fighters of the time.

Sound: 1/5
This is even bad for the 16-bit era.

Replay Value: 1/5
Put this in if you want to laugh at Shaq even more after you finish watching Blue Chips

Overall: 1/5
Given the title it's hard to imagine how Shaq-Fu won't turn out bad in some regard. This game was pumped out as fast as any 2-D fighter could back in the mid-nineties. Don't even bother with this game unless you need a good laugh.

The Good
-You will get a good laugh, and you know it wasn’t intentional.
-Variety of opponents, but it does follow the 2-D formula.

The Bad
-Ridiculous plot. I mean really its bad…
-Not tough. Your kid brother could beat this game.
-Not many special moves and the specials are weaker than the regular punches.

 Shaq Fu
Review created: 06/10/09

Lets see...Basket ball a sport about team work.... and Fighting games...you think these two would not ever mix right...but history has proven us wrong...with the addition of raiden and Subzero as characters in NBA jam back in the arcades Shaq has decided to enter the fighting game genre and attempt to conquer both fields does he succeed....I think not, the game is a cult classic but sadly only becuase of its funny story. basicly shaq while on tour with the lakers meets a old hermit in a china town like area and is told he is the chosen one or some mystic bullcrap and gets pulled into some realm where he has to fight everyone he talks to....becuase apparently shaq is known for his uber karate skills... but the hard controls and everything make it nearly impossible to do any kind of move

Over all if your a hardcore gamer...buy this game just for the experince...if your a nba fan...dont buy this...

 Excellence. Pure Bliss.

Shaq Fu. A name that echoes in the hearts of those who grew up in a time when Shaq was king.

This is a game that you don't love because it's fun. You don't love this game because it's good. Infact, when it comes to playability, this game pretty much scores a 0 out of 5. It's god awful. But that's not why I, or anybody else would purchase it.

So why is it worth having? Because this game is a piece of history. It's something that should be held onto and cherished. It's a game that should bring back memories to all of those who watched him in such star roles as "Kazaam" and then said "I wish there was a videogame with him in it. Oh wait ... there is!"

Don't spend money on this game if you want to play a great game. Because it's terrible. Spend money on it if you want to put it in a vault and pass it down to your children's children's children. Cherish it. Love it. Loathe it.

Playability? 0 out of 5
Artistic? 1 out of 5
Sound? 1 out of 5
Value? 5 out of 5

Overall? 5 out of 5. Nostalgia trumps everything.

 Shaq Fu Review
Review created: 01/09/09

Bad! Take an over hyped star, that we all know was extremely over hyped, and make a game where a Basket Ball player is fighting along with bad...just about everything else. The Angry Video Game Nerd said it best...ASS!

 A Classic Laughingstock
Review created: 07/28/03

Pros:
*snicker*

Cons:
Everything down to the box cover was sub-standard.

Now, I m sure sometime in your gaming life you may have had this discussion with your buddies: What s the worst fighting game of all time? Titles like Street Fighter: The Movie and Fighter s History may have come up somewhere in the convo. Yeah, they sucked pretty badly, but how about a game that was so terrible, the thought of mass-production and multisystem releasing would be absolutely sacrilegious? As evil as it sounds, it s happened. And its name is Shaq Fu. Shaq Fu is undoubtedly one of the worst games of any genre ever created, and it leaves many, if not all, of us wondering Why? Why...

Who's got a game, that's surprisingly and unbelievably lame? ...SHAQ!

Pros:
It's got Shaq-tas...no, I can't bring myself to finish that sentence.

Cons:
Bland characters, uninspired fighting, and squashed characters (even Shaq is small!).

Yeah, I can dig it. I can dig the fact that Shaquille O'Neal (possibly the most intimidating NBA center in this modern era) wanted to put his name on a video game product. I mean, there were plenty of sports figures doing it A few of them were actually enjoyable. You've got John Elway's Quarterback, Jordan vs. Bird, Magic Johnson's Fast Break, and even Dick Vitale's "Awesome, Baby!" College Hoops (okay, maybe not those last two). But, "Shaq Fu?" I almost fell off my chair laughing when I watched the Shaq Fu commercials and saw the "Big Aristotle" chop-sockying it up in front of the camera. I..

The worst part isn't just that it has Shaq in it.

Pros:
It's in Color

Shaq's Famous

Cons:
Horrible Play Control

Rap Single Included

Code to unlock blood

High learning curve

First off, I'd like to say that I applaud Shaq for trying his hand at other things. Second, I d like to say, this game was going too far. Environmentally, it s sub par compared to other games of the time. The graphics looked like they were supposed to be inspired by Mortal Kombat, but appear to be inspired by substance abuse. The sounds were worse. Every grunt and groan is too heavily distorted to determine whether animals were harmed during creation of this game. I don t know where to begin with character design. This game writes the book on bad games. One of the fighters looks like an...
