Shag (AKA Josh Agle) fans are sure to appreciate this book! If you are interested in purchasing one of Shag's limited-edition prints, I recommend that you get this book before purchasing. This book would be quite helpful in helping you determine whether you're looking at a genuine Shag print or a fake. The book gives details about the size of each print edition and the date of publication and it shows a copy of each print from the artist's archives, complete with signature.
The majority of the book features Shag's colorful prints, but there is an introductory blurb that is fascinating. It explains, among other things, why Shag's prints are serigraphs rather than giclees. I found it to be interesting reading.
The prints are interesting too. Anyone interested in modernism, the mid century modern aesthetic, or the martini lounge jetset scene would probably get a kick out of them.
This book is an affordable way to enjoy Shag's prints if your budget doesn't allow for purchasing the real deal.
