Shadowrun, the game hidden by shadows...

Shadowrun is a game I have loved ever since I first played it in the mid '90's. It has a great storyline and it has lots of freeform adventuring. It is at times fustrating because often advancement in the game relies on talking to the right person about the right thing. I found that as a challenge and played harder asking everyone everything. Another thing I really liked about it is the continual upgrading of the main charater through out the game. It was good to see some accomplishment for my hard work. I recommend this game to anyone that wants a good RPG. It takes patience but most RPG players know all about that. The game will provide many hours of gameplay.

  Rock n' Roll chummers!!

To Shadowrun fans, the story is a good solid one! The game play may be a bit annoying as you must click certain areas such as a door to progress, much like a PC RTS game. You get to meet alot of characters and out together a team while you look for your memory and the person or thing that tried to kill you, because the beginning has you waking up in a morg not remembering who you are and what happened, so this game is a real time combat mystery game that rocks!

Old school, and as awesome as ever!
Review created: 06/09/09

Many years ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I had a friend loan me his snes and Shawdowrun game. This was the begining of my videogame infection, that is still in me today. This game is one of the best ever written in my book. Its got rpg and realtime action. The graphics are totally old school, and the gameplay works well. If you've never played this game, good luck finding your 1st save spot, LOL! Anyway, this game is well worth the money if your curious.

I dare to say, the most fun Cyberpunk game to date. Has everything one could ask for in a shooter/rpg. Many hours can be put into this game, and it never gets old! One of the more lesser known gems for the SNES.

Shadowrun is a classic cyber-punk RPG with some nice attributes to it. The Chessmaster is the only game where the difficulty can be set to being a new person to chess or a seasoned veteran. Sim City is the classic city building sim by Will Wright(of The Sims fame) experience weather conditions, construction and basically full control of a city made by your own imagination.

The best Adventure Comic SR game you will ever play

This game pulls you into the Shadowrun atmosphere with it's wonderfull settings, senary, and belovable characters. This series is part Coperate Dragon era and does not becomes too DAD unlike the Genesis version.

You play Jake a Shadowrunner who lost his memory original mission was to deliver a package that would hurt Drake-E Jake's former employer who told him to cancel the run but since Jake is the number one man he did it post haste and Drakee had him killed. Jake then is reserected by Kitsune who for some reason tags along with him later in the game.

You constantly struggle to regain your memories and objective. Along the way you help the people in Jakes world almost like in Diablo and thus gives you access to many other options in the game. However you are number one in the game.

The two biggest highlights of the game is the Ada Wong vs. Drake fight, Defeating King, and hacking.

The game biggest feat is the difficulty. Unlike other LEtter Box games or RPG games you can't just run and duck but you need to get into a good spot and hope nothing hit's you.

The game can be describe as short but the atmosphere is intresting. Would I let my children play it...no way at all but that alone the game is okay for a child
but with parental guidance....then again most parents are childish.

There is no real reason to buy this game since there is many emulators and the file itself is barely two megabytes. However if your a collector I strongly suggest buying this game immediatly. If your a shadowrun fan why is this game not in your Shadowrun collection.

Unlike the Genesis game this game is more like zelda and the atmosphere feels like street. After playing this game you won't wanta go on the wrong side of the tracks for awhile. The Genesis game to this ( a completely diffrent senario ) use a gaulet style gameplay and will only be intresting later into the game.
The SNES game is intresting for the get go and gets even more intresting with only one area that is repetitive and boring.

When you play this game think of all those Micheal Jackson music videos where he was in the city or even the one where everybody was a zombie. This game is up to par with Dragon Quest and other Japanese RPG's. The art is nicely done unlike other western games, and you can actually get into the gameplay.

Think of the world of this game like the city in Preditor, the streets of Freejack, Snatcher, Jhonny Memonic, or even the world of Deathline/Redline when you play this game. With this game you will never be disapointed only if you don't like street, the city, or any other urban themes.

If you have seen the poster it is practically the same as the scene from the Terminator Two where the so called future hero as a pre-teen is hacking money from a cash dispencer.

If GTA had a skin edit where you can replace it with Shadowrun characters that would be real Shadowrun characters it would totaly cool. If Rockstar made a Shadowrun Jake game for the GCN it would rock totally own I mean the bomb fat man fat
.
.
.
.
The point is this game is a shining example when a American game company actually know what the heck they are trying to transform from a board game into a all in one story senario.

If you never heard of Shadowrun then this game is for you but want to get intrested in it this game is for you.

  Super NES game-Shadowrun

Best game ever for the Super NES. Shadowrun is the original 3rd person RPG. Way ahead of its time. Could possibly be he inspiration for most of the games
on the market today, for any system.

  Shadowrun: Precursor to the future
Review created: 07/06/07

I saw the new one come out for the 360 and remembered how much I loved this game as a kid (teens). If you liked the movies "The Matrix" or "Johnny Mneumonic" you will love this game. The latter was completely based off the video game and the former used some of the ideas (8 years before the Matrix was made).

Gameplay is admittedly lacking and is the biggest drawback of the game, sound is sub-par by todays standards and it can be irritatingly confusing since it really is non-linear.

Bottom line is that most of the problems with this game come from reverting back to a 16-bit console but the up-side to this game is evident when you realize that this spawned some of the best futuristic philosophy/action films of the time. As I said before, the movie "Johnny Mneumonic" is virtually scene for scene this game, if you liked it at all give this one a shot.

  Shadowrun for the SNES

This was one of my favorite games on the SNES. I could never find a copy of it, but I rented it several times. Having restored my SNES to working condition, this was one of the first games I looked for on eBay.

Shadowrun: "What Do You Mean 'Ooops'?!"
Review created: 08/24/02
by: Alkaiser -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Made shades, trenchcoats, & hacking cool WAY before Keanu knew kung fu.

Cons:
Random encounters get annoying. Item interface is cumbersome.

Back in the 90s, the Super Nintendo pretty much ruled over everyone else. Sure, the Sega Genesis had some pull to it and had earned its share of diehard fans, but the Nintendo brand name had all but conquered the industry. Only problem with that is Nintendo is a very, very PC company. (By PC, I mean "Politically Correct" and not "Personal Computer".) Their games were designed with the idea of not hurting the player's feelings, so you were never given "lives" in any Nintendo made game, you had 1Ups, or "Continues". So when this game came out, it must have come as a huge shock to some people...

  What is the Matrix?
Review created: 07/09/02
by: rader6795 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
You're a dead guy... like... freaky.

Cons:
Jake makes Aya Brea look like Speed Racer.

Prologue Long before Keanu Reeves ever said, blankly as only he could, "I know kung-fu" and long before he ever said that same line in a movie, Jake Armitage was tapped into the Matrix courtesy of a headjack and cyberdeck in the year 2050. Welcome, boys and girls, to the world of Shadowrun. Put your pens and papers down, grab yourself a controller and get ready to rock the streets of Seattle harder than Kurt Cobain ever did. The Question Keanu Reeves Asks Himself Every Morning: "So, who am I?" What were you expecting? "What is the Matrix?" You take the role of recently deceased, and even more.

So Good, I Forget All About Pie (Better Than Pie W/O)
Review created: 07/12/02
by: tanta07 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Addictive As All Get Out

Cons:
Old School Graphics, Some Slowdown

Those who know me know that I value few things in this world above pie. Yes, pie holds a special place in my heart, as well as clogging it. So when ss3goku held a write-off about a game you like more than pie, it took me quite awhile to come up with anything. After all, there have been few games I ve played that I wouldn t put down long enough to sample some delicious pie. I spent the better part of two weeks thinking this one over, and then a magical thing happened: rader6795 returned to the world of Epinions. After a much-too-long vacation from writing for the site, he came back with a...
