Theodosia is attending an engagement party hosted by Delaine Dish, for her niece. A crash from the next room stops everyone where they stand. The cause is a huge hole in the glass ceiling, and below this the groom is lying dead. Missing is the valuable engagement ring. A few days later at the Historical Society, a guard is attacked during another robbery. Theo wonders if a cat burglar is on the prowl. She has a tough time convincing the police. Theo strikes out on her own to prove her theory.

This series brings out the beauty of Charleston and the Historical district. This book has a little more drama than Ms. Child's other books, but all are delightful cozy reads not to be missed.
