Shade of the Tree by Piers Anthony (1987, Paperback, Reprint)

Being a long time Xanth fan, I had been unaware that Piers Anthony wrote other books. This being the first of the non-Xanth books I picked up, I read the entire thing in a very short amount of time. It really draws you in to it, keeps you guessing, and in the end, it all comes together. My advice is that if you scare easily, you shouldn't read this book at night.
