Sex and the City by Original TV Soundtrack (CD, Jun-2000, London/Sire)

The one song that's a stand-out on this cd is 'Sexbomb' - it's got the legendary sex-machine Tom Jones singing, and a european club DJ mixing it up into dance/club song.

I decided to buy this because I love the TV series and I can't wait for the movie to come out. Unfortunately, I would have liked to hear more actual music from the series. It seems like the songs included were more 'inspired by' the show. The theme from SATC is not the same one used in the series, it is slowed down quite a bit, and I can't recognize any of the other songs from the show. There are some songs from the show that I would like to have a CD of: Got To Be Real from Carrie's ill-fated runway walk, Sade from Samantha and Richard's rooftop pool tryst, some hip-hop from Samantha's affair with the hip-hop exec, some 70's dance from the time the girls were in Staten Island, the music from the tranny rooftop party at Samantha's meatpacking district home. They had lots of music to work with from this series, the songs on the album were not the best of the bunch. Maybe there were permission problems or something?

this cd has 3 good songs on it. i wasn't happy at all. and i am very disappointed. do not buy it. its a waste of money and time

Besides the fabulous cover? The great songs that bring me back to cuddling up on the couch every night that an episode came on.

I was really excited to get this soundtrack because I love the Sex and the City series! The theme song was not great and barely was recognible as the theme song. The other songs I had never even heard on the series. All in all, don't waste your money.
