Sex and the City by Candace Bushnell (1997, Paperback, Reissue)

This book is terrible. I lost interest very quickly. The women are portrayed as loose women that will sleep with anyone. Do not buy this book.

Very interesting read! Uniquely written & a true page turner... I originally bought it because i absolutely LOVE the "Sex And The City" series & movie (I have all seasons & movie!!!) but I found myself copmletely engrossed in the book...

I was a huge fan of the Sex and the City series. Candace Bushnell is a wonderful author. This book is a bit different from the series and the movie which is good. I enjoy reading her work.

I bought this book expecting to love it as much as the show..the book is always better RIGHT?! Not so in this case. I am having trouble wanting to continue reading it, which is odd for me. I also read 4 Blondes which was better.
The condition of the book was excellent, I could have gifted it.
I just am not into the style of writing Bushnell is using.
For the price, it was worth a try!

I bought this item because I've always wanted to read the book that started it all. I love Sex & the City a great deal, and the trivia game was a great bonus to also get.

I bought this because my wife really wanted the book. But all I got was money out of my pocket. The guy never sent the book and now I'm out the money. I would love to tell you what my wife liked about it, but I can't because she has no book.

Reading the book and dreaming Spring while you relaxing your self. I watched the TV about the series mant times but reading the book first time and happy about it

This book was like a train wreck, you keep looking at all the carnage hoping to see something good come out of it! The only book I have read that was worse than this was Four Blondes (also by Bushnell)... which I read before this one. I should have learned my lesson but I kept thinking "they made one of my favorite shows from this book." Candace Bushnell should kiss the feet of whomever read this book and thought anything but fire starter could come from it! I don't see why "Big" got such a bad rap in the show ... she is the alcoholic, pot head that he should have put out the door after the first date. The real "Big" is a nice looking guy and, even by the book's report, treated "Carrie" (Candace) a lot better than she deserved! I'm glad he got out for good!

I really wish I wouldn't have read this book; it kind of ruined the show for me in a way. I still love the show; I'm just glad they had such great writers! Please don't buy this book under the impression you will get ANYTHING out of it!

I really enjoyed this book. I purchased it because I loved the TV series. I wanted to get the basis for where it all began. The book differs a lot from the TV show and the entire time I was reading, I was thinking how did this develop from this (the book) to this (the TV show). An enjoyable read - especially for the true Sex and the City fan!

I was a fan of the sex in the city series on HBO and now on network television so I thought the book would be a fun read. Unfortunately the book does not follow the series. Some of the characters have the same names as the series but not the same role. It was a little "sloppy" to read and hard to follow. Recommend getting the DVDs on e-bay if you are truly a fan.

I really enjoyed this book. If you are a fan of the show, like I am, you will enjoy reading the book that started it all.
