Sewing for Plus Sizes by Barbara Deckert (1999, Hardcover)

I am a fashion design student, but at school we typically design on size 8 dress forms. I wear plus sizes myself, and find it hard to make clothing for myself. I think this book will help me adapt those size 8's I make in school to a size that will actually fit me.

I love the conversational style of this book. It makes it very easy to read. The book is to the point and I don't feel like I have to read through a bunch of information I don't need to get to what I want to know. It is easy to understand and the illistations are excelent. This Lady knows what she is talking about. Her clothes fit her models perfectly. I am excited to sew from a pattern again for the first time since my weight had fluctuated. I am confident that with the information in this book I will be able to sew professional looking clothing.

Its a must own for all of the plus sizes that sew. It has all of the need to know sewing tips to make your clothes fit.

I got my original intro to this book from my local library. I am a beginner at sewing. Worse I am a super plus woman. Patterns for me are hard to come by. I have several dress patterns for my self that I could not sew with out some serious alterations to the patterns this book was a god send with it and a little help from my Mom and aunts I was able to make several out fits for my self and my Mom and my daughter. Now I own my own copy so I can sew 24/7. This is now a god send for my budget to.

I started back sewing this winter. Being a little rusty from years of raising my family and not being a size 5 anymore this book has been a life saver. It explains everything for sewing for us hard to fit girls. Thanks
