Sew Subversive by Hope Meng, Melissa Alvarado, Melissa Roeters (2006, Paperback)

If you are a beginning seamstress with a bit of an edge, this is the right book for you. I have a pretty in depth background in clothing construction, but I did pick up a few pointers while sifting through the first section of the book. The second portion of the book is when the authors get into the stuff that I was initially after when I purchased this book, which is the unique, exciting, and fun project ideas. While there are a number of great ideas, but I would have liked more. A would say this is a must have for seamstresses of any level who like to venture out a bit.

A good basic how to sewing guide with a twist. I teaches you all the basics of sewing, organizing your work area, etc. As well as some super cute and easy to make projects. The projects are hip and original. What I really like is that the book encourages individuality. Who really wants a cookie cutter wardrobe? Not I. With the help of this book we don't have to look like fashion drones from the planet BORING.
