Serenity (DVD, 2005, Full Frame)

Joss Whedon's cowboy/sci-fi masterpiece gives excellent dialog, superb special effects, and characters that solidly cast. I would strongly recommend ordering the Firefly complete season DVD set to watch before this movie. It gives you a continiouty lacking in many movie franchises. Good science fiction has been hard to come by so if you are a fan of the genre, don't pass this up.

This movie is a great "conclusion" if you will for fans of the TV series, Firefly. Great portrayal of the mood and ideas surrounding the series, and leaves you wanting more! Maybe one day a sequel will be made, or even better, the series will be reignited! If you're looking for fast-paced, nail biting action, suspense, love and humor, this is a sure bet for any sci-fi fan!

This is one incredible movie. No, you don't have to be familiar with the series to enjoy it, but the familiarity will make several moments in the movie that much more tragic. The action here is incredible, and unlike several of the Star Trek movies, the characters don't deviate from their series personnas. The emotional impact of several scenes is so intense it was hard to stay seated (a crash landing sequence can almost give you motion sickness). This brings a satisfying end to the storyline the original series had started. It's a shame the show never got to tell this story in its entirety. You can see where some parts of the movie are rushed in a way. Something that could have been stretched over weeks in a series had to be handled in minutes, and that robs it a little. But you have to applaud Whedon for being able to tie up all the loose ends he started with just two hours. Shame on the network for cancelling this, but congratulations to Whedon for giving the fans--both old and new--the ending the show deserved. Heroes will shine, and some will fall, but Serenity will live on.

Now bring the show back!

I bought this movie to replace a copy I lost! If you like this movie you should also check out the Firefly series it was based on.

Very disturbing images, gory, violent, but! The hero is most deffenantly a hero, you question wether he is going to be (and so does he), but he can't fight his instincks. Nicely rounds out the series while leaving room for more. You have to have it to go with Firefly (the series). Thogh it can stand alone as a good movie the series explanes alot, and the movies wraps things up some for the series.

DVD was used but had no marks or scratches on it recieved quickly played wonderfully and was a good movie

It sticks religiously to the plot of the T.V. series and ends it all with a bang. Yeah there are some characters you may not have any idea who they are (*cough* Mr. Universe *cough*) but that's only because the series was ended before their debut. All in all a very action packed and exciting movie to finish off a great series and totally worth a watch.

Excellent movie, I have watched it several times and will watch it again from time to time, it is that good!! Worth every penney.

I absolutely love this movie. If you have never seen any of the Firefly episodes I strongly suggest buying or renting them before watching this movie.
The movie is very well put together, exciting and some gruesome content. The Firefly series is great. The seller is a great ebayer, would not hesitate to buy from again.

The Serenity movie was a must buy. I have the complete series of Firefly and the movie brings an end to a great show.

I was never a fan of firefly the series before I saw this film. But after hearing about it and listening to somme of the music that came from the film I decided to give the film a try. Now I want to see the series just so I can learn the background of the characters a little more. Surprising the film was excellent and had a nice touch to it. The best part about the film was that it didn't have aliens and other stuff in that nature. It was just humans trying to survive in space and the normal outlaws here and there trying to make a living.

The film has a nice cast of characters, everyone doesn't seem to have anything in common, but they all just have that vibe that makes it work. Another thing I like was how there was comedy mixed with action, giving you a good laugh here and there. The special effects were pretty good too, the plot also had a nice pace to it flowing smoothly from begining to end. The best thing I liked was the music, it just has that little extra and its relaxing in a way. I've been looking for the soundtrack for the film, but so far no luck.

To sum up, I think this is an excellent film to add to your collection. The fact that it offers something different than the everyday sci fi films.

I saw it long ago at a friend's house and was amazed by it. The characters are not generic, but very unique. The villain is someone you can sympathize with, which makes it seem more realistic despite the futuristic setting. The special effects are decent for when it was produced. Some of the transitions seem a little awkward, but the cinematography was beautiful.

River's fight scene is absolutely the most beautiful moment in any fight scene ever.

Hey, great movie. Scifi and fantasy fans will get a kick out of this well done movie based on the prematurely cancelled TV series "Firefly". Really great stuff, one of my favorites...

Great wrap up of the wonderful series Firefly. The cancellation of the series was certainly premature and was a great mistake! Following for the series is still strong!

We love Serenity the Movie! It was in perfect condition, the description was right on about it. The price for the product & the shipping were wonderful. We have bought a handful of movies off Ebay & have been happy with all of them.

This is great science fiction and as a story of its own it is excellent, however for those who followed the Firefly series, and were told that this would answer all those questions left when the series was cancelled, this is wrong still some questions not only left unanswered but due to the way the story developed left no room for finding those answers, should later movie or tv show come from it.

I loved the tv series and the movie answers all the questions the series left unanswered. I hope they make a sequel.

I love it. I enjoyed Joss Whedon's direction of this film. I liked the characters, they each were given a three dimensional personality. I like how easy the director made it for me to pick up the story line, which was alo multi-dimensional. It will make a good addition to my sci-fi collection. Plus, here on eBay, I was able to buy an excellent copy for a great price. Check it out, you might like too...if you don't you will have a gift to give the sci-fi fan iny our family!

Loved it, subtle differences between this full screen and the wide screen version are exciting to watch for. Serenity puts the storyline as the star with the end result being all of the actors shine thru for their own true abilities with major star qualities. The futuristic storyline premise is fresh and as exciting as when Star Wars came out in the 70's. Sure wish another movie was in the works and/or the Firefly series was still running.

I love the special effects, the way the characters flowed together. I bought it because of the TV series Firefly. Excellent. The movie Serenity takes off from the series. A must see movie.

We loved watching this movie it was a great added bonus to the TV series that we also own. We wished that the series was still going on and being produced. The producers did a wonderful job with the movie.
