Serendipity (DVD, 2002)

I love John Cusack. That said, he doesn't shine in this picture. Perhaps it was his leading lady - or her character. For once, Cusack's character is more sympathetic. Usually he plays the more negative persona. But Kate brings the effort down. Her character is annoyingly fixed in her serendipitous ways. She ignores the signs of their chance meeting to leave the possibility of a relationship to some complicated tempting of the fates. Of course, if she'd given him her number, there'd be no movie! Falls flat in parts. But still, it's a romantic comedy - and if you like them, as I do - you have to watch them all! One bright spot: Jeremy Piven shines as Cusack's best friend.

It's a Great Movie and Kate Beckingsale is a DOLL !!!It is a love story and comedy all rolled into one . The whole family enjoyed it . I have watched the movie several times and will do so again !

John Cusack, Kate Beckinsale, is excellent in this film. I am a guy that has never been into chick flicks but I made an exception on this one. Love the movie and also didn't hurt that Kate Beckinsale was in it. As the biggest Kate Beckinsale fan 5 stars.

It's a cute story. Great for a girls movie nite. It's a nice romantic comedy with good actors. I rented it a couple of times and just decided to purchase it for a gift.

Just simple, classic romance story.
"Serendipity" is Charming, funny, and very touching.
Yet, something so simple missing from so many other movies, this one hits it just perfectly!

I thought this was an excellent movie. I am into the suspense, love stories and I truly love a happy ending and this movie kept me interested and crying. I recommend this movie to anyone who has not seen it.

Anyone who loves romantic comedy will love this film. There are some very sweet moments in it, and your heart may well melt. Of course, New York City is the perfect setting for a love story like this one. Great for a girls night in!

As a fan of John Cusack, I wasn't sure if I would like this romantic soft side of him, but his character still had the sarcastic dark wit that I love. The movie was fast paced and kept both my husband and I riveted. The entire cast was great and I would recommend this movie to anyone that likes funny, romantic comedies...with edge.

I found this movie enchanting. The story line was cute but a little far fetched. The cast was marvelous. I would recommend this movie for all ages.

great movie. very cute story. It will never ever happen, but you know it is a movie. If you are aware that it is just a movie, pretty good to make you feel happier. it made me love my place more :) When you have a chance to go to serendipity (to eat that frozen hot choco thing), go a head of time. And if there are only two of you, do not order each unless you are gonna eat only frozen hot choco. It is pretty big and good.

i saw this movie on the cable channel and just had to buy it. i love the fact that they both truely liked each other but they left it up to faith to bring them together and it did at the end of the movie
