Beautifully shot, excellent casting and acting

I loved the Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet but always felt somehow that the casting was a bit off. I stumbled upon this adaptation on Netflix and was thrilled to find that it was beautifully done and I have to say now my favorite adaptation. The scenery is stunning and the casting superb, particularly Eleanor. The age ranges of the sisters is much closer and feels more fitting with the actual storyline. The character differentiations - Eleanor's logical, pragmatic yet hopeful nature contrasted with Marianne's youth and exuberance and overt romanticism is much more believable I felt in this adaptation - they seem like real characters. And I think the progression for Marianne from the youthful infatuation with Willoughby and the progression to her realization of her affection for Colonel Brandon also feel more human and less like she's "settling". Also the age difference between Brandon and Marianne doesn't feel like as great a gap. And Eleanor and Edward are well matched in age and the chemistry is fabulous.
Overall, every single actor shines in their roles and performances. It feels just like a more honest adaptation overall and a must see for any fan of Jane Austen or English period drama in general.
