Album Notes This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Producers: Abraham Quintanilla, Brian "Red" Moore, Guy Roche, David Pack, Keith Thomas. The soundtrack to this movie about the late Tejano singer Selena consists mostly of songs recorded between 1990 and 1995 by Selena herself. There are several previously-unreleased tracks, including two live disco medleys recorded at the Houston Astrodome in March 1995, a month before Selena was murdered. Other highlights include the soaring pop ballads "Where Did The Feeling Go?" and "Only Love," and a live medley of four of Selena's most popular Spanish-language songs, including "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom." As well as a taste of Selena's lovely and energetic singing voice, SELENA offers two tribute songs to the late singer, including "Viviras Selena," which was written by Ruben Garza, produced by Selena's brother, A.B. Quintanilla III, and sung by six Tejano performers. The album, like the film, celebrates the brief life and career of a beloved singer.
Editorial Reviews ...this is the definitive Selena document. She sings gorgeously and the heavenly falsetto doo-wop of the Vidal Brothers fits right in... - Rating: A Entertainment Weekly (04/18/1997)
