Having seen the success of "The Rock" (Dwayne Johnson), in "The Mummy 2", "The Scorpion King", "The Rundown", "Be Cool", "The Gridiron Gang"....and other WWE Wrestler's like Stone Cold, Kevin Nash, Goldberg in "The Longest Yard" (Remake w/Adam Sandler), HHH (Paul Levesque) in "Blade 3" -- Wrestlers became recognized for well-acting in movie roles; since wrestling is scripted acting. LionsGate Films went into a cooperative and collaborative effort with WWE Films, (Vince McMahons Movie Company -- as he is the agent for his WWE Athletes in Hollywood), in this new release of WWE Superstar "KANE" in "See No Evil". WOW !!!! They found the right genre for him. The Horror/Slasher.... and he excels! -- "Kane" plays the "Hands Of God Killer". Brutally slashing his victims with a large chained hook and binding his victims into diabolically evil submission, plucking out their eyes, (the windows to the soul of their sins). "Kane" is honestly fantastic as the extremely volatile, merciless and destructive psychopath and he really sells you on the fear and fright that the movie lays on thick. Edgy-Camera Work is excellent as you are led down the halls of this dreary, burned-out grey hotel. The lack of significant colors adds to the clearly drone setting and intensifies the drama and tension as YOU, the viewer, FEEL the uncomfortable setting like you are standing in it. - The film begins with a blindingly horrific opener that will leave you absolutely speachless. Not since the "Children Of The Corn" has the first 5 minutes of a film been so Evil and Disturbingly Unleashed upon it's viewers. You barely get comfortable to watch and you have already been horrified into a stroke-like stare. Film flashes ahead: 4 Years Later, Inmates from a Prison (male and female) are selected to assist in the renevations of an old Hotel for Museum-Sake, in exchange for 1 month off their sentences. **(This is the only feature, I feel, that keeps this film from a 5-Star Slasher). You never get to learn much about the inmates, (obviously the soon-to-be-victims), and they come across very relaxed, (often portrayed joking around and sneaking away from supervising personnel with a chuckle). Coming out of Prison, I think they would be a bit less smiling, having been in middle of doing time. The movie would've gone to an even higher level if we got a group of seriously deviant convicts doing HARD-TIME, rather than very young (almost juvenile) offenders in for thefts and one even computer fraud? Had they been more hard-core, bulky convicts, "Kane's" merciless handlings would be over-the-top to what we would see as men even society finds "Hard-To-Control". Nevertheless, the convicts in fact find themselves the prey, in a Hotel filled with maze's, secret passages and double-sided mirrors....all of which has become home to "The Hands Of God Killer -- KANE". He stalks his prey and without hesitation, lays unmerciful judgement on everyone he can come in contact with. There are NO moments of "dramatic-pause" or "one-line humors" before a killing. "Kane" hands out unrelenting and swift/brutal execution of his prey and moves ahead with the cold-blooded sociopathic mission of a clearly disturbed and deranged madman. He honestly adopts this to perfection and makes this SLASHER worth every second. This is definately a film NOT TO MISS - SEE THIS !!
