
A Must~Have for every Aspiring Cook!

I stumbled across this book several years back and decide to give it a try. The recipes are so straight foward, and the little stories and memoirs sprinkled throughout really take you to a different culture. The recipes I make from "Seductions of Rice" have become so popular with my friends that I am constantly bombarded with request for certian dishes to bring to work or the next picnic. Even if the some of the ingriedients are a little foriegn to you (not a fan of tofu? Nori?) they are all easily substituted, and for the vegans out there, the meat dishes are very easily made vegetarian. I've given away several copies as housewarming gifts to my vegetarian friends, with a set of rice bowls, and months later they were still opening "Seductions of Rice" first to plan out dinner. It is one of my favorites, and I consider it to be an essential cookbook on anyone's shelf, whether you are a novice college student with one pot and a single wooden spoon, or a seasoned chef with your pick of Cuisinart, there is something in here for everyone, and the book will "grow" with your technique.
