I was interested in the determination of spirit of those abused by the monster patriach and how they survived and rallied in spite of impossible odds. It shows strength of character and boundless patience, unequalled to any other horror story. It is a study in psychology of the totally selfish father contrasted with the daughter who manages to survive an existance no daughter could fathom. This tale is a shocking pageturner, a quick read since it is impossible to put down!
