I was lamenting at my lack of negotiating skills, and a co-worker recommended this author/tapes. He said it changed his outlook on life, and he gave me numerous examples of how he used the tips he learned from Dawson to negotiate buying things in his everyday life (in one example, he saved a good chunk of money buying a stairmaster).
I listed to these CDs and thought they were great, they do give you a different way of thinking and looking at things (although I can't say I agree with all his perspectives).
Recommend this to others.

Learning about the elements of negotiation is essential to success in life today. And nobody is better equipped to teach negotiation skills than Roger Dawson. If you are in sales it is essential to learn the basic skills of negotiation, and if you are not, it is even more essential so that you will have the skills and knowledge to defend yourself against the negotiating techniques used by experienced salesmen. Since, as Roger puts it, everything in the world is owned by someone, so if you want something you'll have to negotiate with someone for it, I highly recommend these CDs for absolutely everyone.

I have this on cassette tape and it is excellent. He is a genius. I needed it on CD for my new car. His talk is not boring and keeps your attention. Great for a lot of life situations including purchasing a home, car, raise, loan, etc. Essential for every one, especially business people.

Dawson is one of the great old authorities on human nature and communications. This is a must have for anybody who wants to learn more about negotiating and coming out "win-win" every time.

This program will help anyone who deals with people. We are always selling something everyday, be it cars, boat, paper or ideas we are always working to get other people to do what we want them to do. Everything is negotiatable once you understand how to think about what the wants, needs and desires are of the person you are dealing with you have a greater opportunity to get them to agree with what you want. Good program!
