Two years have passed since John O'Rourke's wife died in an accident that left him devastated and their children at a loss. John is a defense attorney and right now he is trying to save a man's life that nobody else thinks is worth saving, including his neighbors who have shunned him. The children suffer most of all from all this so when Kate Harris arrives and is mistaken for the new housekeeper/sitter, they are overjoyed. They will soon find out that Kate has her own reason for coming to Connecticut and wanting to know the O'Rourke family.
Ms. Rice's characters are well portrayed and the story will tug at your heart. There is a lot of emotion's that are expressed and when Kate arrives it adds a nice touch.
