- occasionally, I noticed (over large transfers) that the drive appears to be "freezing" for a second or two then resumes the transfer. No big deal for me as I used them for storage only (and not for live streaming), but the ES2 series from Seagate (1Tb) never had this behavior, indicating that indeed enterprise level drives are optimized for "server" access.

I have been running this drive for just over 1 month now and have had ZERO problems with this drive. I am useing it as an internal drive for mass storage back up. It is running 24 hours a day and never misses a beat. For the price and quality I can not say enough about it.

Just the best hardrive spacewise and speedwise.
What else can I ask for? and lastly the price was right.

Equipment came new, just like it was advertised and also the drive works great, have not had any issues at all...

this thing works excellent an easy to install 7200 rpm very very fast it is 1.5 TB but i only read 1.36 TB works good

Since a week that I am using two Seagate Barracuda 7200, my level of satisfaction is very high, I have no complaint to make.
It seem that this technology is very reliable and at this time it is difficult to make and to get better performance.

Quick to send the product and they were in good shape. I would buy from them again. The drives were in good shape.

came very quickly and was package in a ton of bubble wrap. I plugged the hard drive right in and it works just amazingly.

Never recieved product, luckiliy paypal was honorable and refunded my money. Maybe ebay had something to do with this and maybe the seller did too. I am not sure honestly.
I will say this, though, this is the 1st and only bad experience I have had with buying products from ebay and they made it right! So in the end I was not hurt at all and the experience is raised from poor to below average.

It was one of my first purchases at Ebay. The seller's reputation was perfect close to 100% positive. Just in 2 days after my purchase I've noticed that there were lots of negative feedbacks left for the seller. The seller didn't respond to any communicaion. In the end, it turned out that both seller's accounts at Ebay and Paypal were hacked. And it was one big fraud. Paypal is still investigating the issue for refunds. I hope my next buying experience will be much better.

We use a lot of hard drives in our Desktop RAID system, such as Seagate 7200.12 1TB, 7200.11 1.5TB, Caviar Green 1TB, 2TB. Among all these hard drives, Seagate 7200.11 have the highest performance in terms of disk access/transfer or read-write speed that no other can even compete. Based on our test, all green series will be much slower compared to Seagate 1.5tb. And most importantly, its price is almost the most reasonable if you calculate on a $/GB basis. For example, we tested that copying a very large folder 3800 files/7GB from a standalone Seagate 1.5Tb disk to a 3-disk RAID 5 configuration in our Desktop RAID system only takes around 1 minute, but for all green series it will take 3~5 minutes to finish the job. We found Caviar green is almost the slowest hard drives among all our selection since it stop running when idle.

The downside is it's very hot when running non-stop, especially when you put several Seagate 1.5TB together. If you have no cooling system in place, system will begain losing disk one-by-one, which means it's no stable enough without cooling system in place, so our Desktop system has special AI cooling system installed to guarantee their working non-stop. The normal working temperature for Seagate 1.5TB is 0~60 degree in centigrade and if your hard drives has worked more than 5 hours, it may reach much higher than 60 degree. So, our suggestion is if you have only one disk installed, it may be ok without cooling measures, but if several hard drives in one case, you have to install cooling system, otherwise your system would be dead for sure.

Green series like Seagate 7200.12 or Caviar Green has much lower working temperature, so it can work non-stop stably although disk access rate is slower.

In a word, if you want performance, you have no choice but Seagate 1.5TB, but you need to install cooing system to gurantee it can work non-stop stably. But if you have no such mission-critical needs and wish a very quiet desktop, we would suggest you go green, although a little bit slow in reading and writing.

I've orderd the HD and payed with PayPal at the same day.
after about a week I've recieved an emial declaring the the seller canceled the deal with no good explanation.
I've recived a refund. but when I asked for a reason for the cancelation I didn't get any mail back...
better not work with him

Hands down, this is the best TB hard drive value in the market, with a price point arounf $110-$130 and dropping - Fast, quiet, reliable - Seagate Rocks!

this hard drive is what I needed for my first build so far is works beautiful it works great with vista I just love my comupter I put it in hope to buy more in the future

I decided to bought this hard drive because it is simple to use and has a lot of free space and it looks good. I'm satisfied with the purchase of this hard drive.

I have been very happy with them. I puchased two for a Drobo storage unit about a month ago and they are working great.

I bought this HD for storage purposes, but what impressed me the most was it´s performance. It reaches 120MB/s of throughput (read speed), almost the same speed as a WD VelociRaptor 10.000RPM!!! This is the fastest 7.200RPM drive I've ever see. The only drawback is the ramdom access time, wich is a little slow. And of course you only get 1.36TB of usable space, but this is normal in every HD. For everyone buying a large HD, I recommed this Seagate drive, lots of space, extreme performance and it costs only a little more than other slower and smaler 1TB drives. Cheers.

These two drives came packaged perfectly, installed in seconds and were imediately recognized by my system. Raid was set up in the first 20 minutes and with both being 1.5TB I was formatting my new 3TB worth of space before my coffee was done brewing. By far worth every penny and the best upgrade to my home server yet.

This hard drive is great. Plenty of storage space, much faster than my old 100gb IDE hard drive, and totally quiet. The deal I got on this was better than anything local by at least $25-$35. Two of these HDs would make an awesome RAID setup.

I needed a new drive, and was looking at 500GB, and 750GB drives when I came across this one. The price was decent in comparison, so I bought it instead. It installed very easily, and so far has been really great.
