If you love horses, you will love, love, love this movie. If you don't like horses, you will still enjoy this movie. Its super plot, story line, beginning, middle and ending is worth it,hope, faith, all for the underdog. He was a great racehorse, a rare quirk, a million to one shot and so was his jockey as his rider. It all comes together for a triumphant end, and so rightly earned. When I went to see this movie, when it came out, the place was crowded. Sure, there were a lot of horse lovers like me there, of course, would I miss this? Do bears .... in the woods? Well, the audience stood up at the end and cheered! Some people had tears in there eyes, yes, me too. The cinematography and direction, the scenes, the action, the angles, the storyline and the fact that this really happened and is documented with actual photos is what makes this movie over the top. It's as real as it gets. Love it!~ So, if you need your fix of "horsey" stuff, see this! Have a good cry, cheer on the winner, horse and man, underdogs both, and feel good that the little guy can still win, with talent, hard work, faith, hope and courage. Note: also see The Black Stallion, Pharlap, National Velvet, The Miracle of The White Stallions (story of the Lipizzaner horses that were saved by Gen Patton in WWII)and of course Sylvester (a must see). And if you like dog movies, well that's another time and review. See them all and pass them on. Enjoy!!!
