Movie Description
When a British spy plane goes down over the North Sea during World War II, four of its occupants escape and take refuge on a tiny lifeboat. One of the survivors, Air Commodore Waltby (Michael Redgrave), holds a briefcase containing essential plans that would foil the Nazi scheme to invade London and overrun England entirely. As Nazi invasion forces gather along the horizon, Waltby and his crew struggle to survive the tumultuous sea.
After shooting war documentaries for the Royal British Air Force, director Lewis Gilbert tackled this violent oceanic setting as if it were a mere swimming pool, producing a realistic and exciting film. With its charging white-capped waves and brave British officers, THE SEA SHALL NOT HAVE THEM is a must for TITANIC fans and an essential piece of postwar cinema.
