Scroll Saw Pattern Book by Patrick Spielman (1986, Paperback)

The book while written by two well renowned authors, was too basic for me. Not that I'm an expert, but I felt I was too advanced for this book. I think, however, that it would be very helpfull for a beginner, someone just starting the art of scrolling.

Just what I wanted. Could not find it any where else. It looked like areal good deal to me. I am using it in my work shop to make yard figurines.

There are alot of designs to use but mosr are very basic. If you are looking to any real fretwork, then this is not the book for you. If you are a beginner then you will be able to use most of the designs included. i personally was looking for more atvanced designs but they were not in this book.

I was hoping there would be some fretwork patterns or something somewhat challenging. Most of the patterns in this book are just basic shapes. Very, very easy patterns. I guess they will be good patterns for my 7 year old son to get familiar with using the scroll saw. I did like the variety of different patterns in the book, and I guess I'll keep it around. Who knows maybe someday I will need a pattern for a duck silhouette on a stick.....haha

These patterns are east to follow, cut, put together. Quite a number of patterns in ONE book. Such a varity - Numbers, Letters, Signs, Whirley Gigs, etc., etc., etc. I'm glad I bought it.
