Like Kelby is looking over your shoulder

This is really an excellent way to learn Scott Kelby's techniques for rescuing crippled images. You can download the example files and work along with them and the book. It's almost like he is right there with you. I've learned a lot from this book. It took me to the next level in Photoshop.

One caution, since the first step (of 7) uses the raw feature, you should have CS3 to get the most from the book.

  Same old stuff
Review created: 05/15/09

It is the same old revamped / reworded stuff that he has written time and time again from his articles in the magazines. He is a very knowledgeable guy that knows how to write and to do great PR on himself, which includes his books. I reason I brought the book is I thought it would be different and many something new about CS3, its not. Also, you should be aware to all beginners to Photoshop, this isn't really that book for you and it is geared towards you own photography type of photos, not stock.

I really have liked over the years what Scott Kelby has written, even learning a few things here and there, but this book itself, is nothing new that he hasn't written about before. There is another book, with the same title by a different publisher which they added a co-author to Kelby's techniques and it is aimed towards the beginner. Sorry Mr. Kelby, you missed on this one. Better luck on the next book, which we all know there will be many to come.

Review of Scott Kelby's Seven-Point System
Review created: 07/20/08

Great book for developing a work flow for using Photoshop CS3 and Camera Raw. Excellent instruction for the using of Raw, Smart Filters, Shadow and Highlight, use of masks and sharpening. Loved the Color Lab trick to enhance colors. Photos can be downloaded from Scott's website. Book is well organized and easy to follow. Don't have to jump around like some books. Scott...keep up the humor...ignore the whiners.

  Scott Kelby does it again!
Review created: 05/23/08

Mr Kelby comes through for Photoshop users again. He has created another book that is full photographic examples with tons of technical information that still manages to be an 'easy enough for everyone' how-to manuel. Love his books!

  Scott Kelby's Seven-Point System - Adobe Photoshop CS3
Review created: 03/25/08

Of all the Photoshop books I've read, this is the BEST! Very easy to understand with "hands on" experience using the seven point system! Plus after all the lesson photo's chapter 21 is a "refresher"! Which helps if your not using Photoshop on a recurring basis. It's great! This book if rated on a scale of 1-10 would be a 10+! If you want to fully understand Photoshop CS3 with "hands on" experience....this is the book!! Many thanks to Scott Kelby for writing such a great book!!!
