The digital photography books by Scott Kelby are simple enough for me a amature photographer to understand and implement into my picture taking. Easy to find details for questions that arise during picture taking. Love the books would buy again.

These books are straightforward, simple tips and instructions on how to use a digital SLR camera to get great results. These books are not for advanced photographers, but designed specifically for novices who are looking to get better results from their cameras.

I found Scotts writing style very entertaining and to the point. I liked both books very much and I did learn a lot, the books are more for the experienced photographer and not those just starting or those that have not studied photography. As Scott explains in the book, he writes as if you are on a photo shoot with him (meaning you know how to handle your camera and equipment)and he explains in the books the same as he would in the field, direct and to the point. No basic reviews, no history of photography, just to the point. I am now shopping for other books (Book 3 of the series)written by him. I normally buy & read, then resale, but this one goes into the library for reference.

great little books not alot of searching for what you need just quick fomulas for great pictures. easy to follow the hardest part of the books is putting up whit his lame humor!!!

The information in this book is clearly laid out in a casual, conversational tone. The information is basic and will be mostly review for people familiar for their DSLR, but it is a really excellent starting place. You'll have everything you need to get started after reading these guides.
